La Costena Tomatillos 794g

As Mexican and living in London, it has been hard for me to find "tomatillos", cause, where I can buy them are really far stores from where I live. I already order this product 3 times, and for this last one, I ordered it last night at 11 pm and it arrived home today at 8 am, I am super surprised about it and happy to be able to prepare my "chilaquiles" for breakfast. The price is high compared to Mexico of course, but compared to other products from here, like salsas already made, the price is lower cause I can prepare two times salsas with this can.

never had these before so cant comment on respective quality but seemed great and worked perfectly in the recipe I bought them for. does what it says on the . . . you get the idea :)

Drain them well and they are ready to use. Set aside for blending later. Roast 1-2 jalapenos (adjust spiciness), half medium onion cut in wedges, 1-2 cloves of garlic (can be roasted with skin on then peeled) and a green bell pepper. I roast everything together until nicely charred, but check regularly and remove the ingredients that look done. Put all roasted ingredients with tomatillos in a blender, blend on low/medium speed, add some salt to taste and a splash of lime if you wish. Chop and mix in loads of fresh coriander before serving. Can be kept in fridge for a few days (without the coriander). Here you have a brilliant salsa verde to go with any meat, tacos, and variety of dishes!

Next best to fresh tomatillos. Cannot tell the difference in a cooked sauce. Love that these are available in the UK as fresh is not.

I hadn't tried these before, so unsure what to expect, but I do like experimenting with recipes. They are a surprisingly delicate flavour, and as such, not for robust recipes . . . but they do work well in a variety of lighter flavoured recipes in which they have little competition. For that reason alone, I would recommend them for experimentation purposes alongside the likes of Tarragon in chicken recipes . . give thought to recipes outside the Mexican box !

ho comprato una sola lattina proprio per evitare che arrivasse danneggiata come dimostrano tante recensioni, è arrivata rotta aveva perso del liquido e i pomodori erano molli.

Nice well preserved tomatillos for the Texas-Mexico style salsa. Reliable manufacturer and familiar flavors. Would buy again and would recommend.

I usually buy the raw ones, but this ones save me the work and it taste great. It worth the money

El sabor es bueno.. para ser de lata. Se mantienen firmes no pochos o aguados. Me vinieron 13 tomatillos. De buen tamaño Probé por encima uno y si .. sabe a sal.. lo indica en la lata. Pero no supo a sal como tal... En la comida que yo hice los ultilice para hacer Pozole verde. Y el sabor bien.. el pozole quedó muy bien.. para usar productos que no hay aquí en España.
