Really good Blu-ray player.
Excellent quality at a reasonable price. Very pleased. Easy to set up and use and very compact. Can be connected to the internet to update the player software or this can be done using a USB stick. Plays a good number of different disc formats. Quite impressed.

Excellent Blu-Ray Player
I have a stack of Blu-Rays and DVDs that have sat on shelves for years. I was going to get rid of some of them, and I have donated some to a local charity shop. The rest, some box sets, etc now seem to go for pennies on auction sites, it wasn't worth the hassle selling them. I decided I would get the cheapest Blu-Ray player possible to watch them. After doing a bit of research I discovered that a Sony - an actual named player - was so reasonably priced. I presumed I would have to get some make I'd never heard of. I have paid a staggering amount of money in the past for Sony players. The unit itself is very small, but sturdy and of great quality. The disk drawer is behind a panel, which flips down when you press eject. I had connected it with a network cable to my router, but after checking for a software update I was informed the player was up to date. Apart from that, there really is no need to have the player connected to the Internet. You are presented with three options on power-up: disc, USB and settings. I popped in a Blu-Ray disc and first noticed how whisper quiet the player was. No noise at all. Picture quality was fabulous. I really had forgotten how great Blu-Ray is. I did have an issue with the sound though, the audio was slightly out of sync, which did ruin the experience. I simply changed the audio settings to PCM. This was after adjusting the A/V SYNC made no difference. Sound is clear, picture is great. The only (slightly) disappointing aspect is the remote, which does seem a little cheap, but it does everything you want it to do and all features are accessible including power, eject, etc. Navigating the menus is easy as there are so few of them. I did have an issue with the player not recognising a Seagate 2TB external drive. Tried different formatting, exFat and NTFS, but made no difference. Tried smaller partitions and it would only recognise one 200GB partition. In the end I simply had to delete the volume in disk manager and then convert to MBR. Worked perfectly then. Multi region too. Tried a couple of R1 DVDs and they played perfectly. All-in-all an excellent Blu-Ray player, which is tremendous value for money.

Perfectly compact little DVD player
For the price, this is an excellent little DVD player. It's small and compact, it slides under my TV which I wanted, the picture and sound quality are far superior to my old machine which was on It's way out. Overall I am really impressed with it.

DVD and CD player
Usual quality from Sony appears to be really good. Was attracted by the price, upscaling and that could play CDs, yes have loads of them. The but I missed was it isn't a Blue Ray player. That is my fault. Will keep and have ordered a Blue Ray that I am familiar with, which may well do everything but there you go, should pay attention.

Worked well in the several months I've had it so far
Compact, multifunctional and easy to use. I also like the way you could plug USB memory sticks and hard drives into the front in order to access photo, video and sound files via the remote control.
