This motherboard supports all of Intel's mainstream Skylake CPUs, and has everything nessasary for a gaming rig.DDR4 Memory, which comes in larger single DIMMs realatively inexpensively, means you don't need any more than 2 slots for RAM.It lacks any overclocking features a Z170 Chip board would, like ASUS's TurboV Core, which I like, but for the average person this board has all that's needed.I have paired this with a i7 6700k cooled by a Deepcool 120 AIO, 8gb stick of HyperX Fury, a RX 480 Nitro+, AX760 PSU, 256gb Hynix OEM SSD and 2TB WD Green, and a PCIE WiFi card all in a CiT Lightspeed for a gaming PC I was building for the missus. I found a used 6700k for the price of a new i5 6500, and since the end user of this pc will never overclock the CPU I saw this as the perfect mobo.I have two gripes however, no VRM heatsinks and only two fan headers. The former is only a problem with higher power CPUs like the i7s, but then again they're not very power hungry CPUs anyway. There is also no OCing on this board so it's even less of a concern, although it may negatively effect the life expectancy of this board with i7 CPUs. The two fan headers make cable management more messy, since you'll have to use Molex to 3 pin fan adapters.All in all, I recommend this Mobo to any non-overclocker looking for an inexpensive board with all you need.

This was for my significant others PC so I can't comment on daily use. It was a sound buy and at a decentish price was worth the money. Assembly went Ok although, it took longer than it should have to get it the case (Thermaltake 15) with issues with alignment and I had to leave one screw out so as to not put stress on the board. The front panel connectors aren't as clearly labeled on the board as they could have been and I had to access a full copy of the user's manual online as the one that came with the board lacked the diagram of where the necessary pins were arranged. Other than that the rest is very good. Windows 10 installed easily and the BIOS is visually pleasant and well laid out. There is a LED around the audio chip that has a 'breathing' effect on it but it's really not offensively noticable. It has plenty of antisurge protection so you supposedly shouldn't have to worry about that. You can't change clock multipliers on this chipset so don't bother with K series CPU's however you can adjust the boost clock multipliers and the base clock although these come basically as high as you will need and the base clock method of overclocking isn't really worth it for the gains you get. TL;DR It's a good board for the price but installation could have been easier.

The product its self is fine. Easy to install. Good motherboard for the cost.The 3 stars comes from the way it was sent out. Delivery sticker on the actual product box, no protective packaging or outside boxing. Wasn't even sealed. An item as delicate as a motherboard should not be posted like this, I wouldn't expect anything I buy online to be delivered like this.Would of returned but board looked fine and was in a rush to get the computer built.May of been a one off but be wary

my order came already fried, the motherboard that was supposed to be in the static bag was on the under neath EXOPSING MOTHERBOARD TO DAMAGE so wasn’t packaged properly and the cpu lock mechanism was too loose. terrible product

I bought this board to upgrade from a 5Gen Core i5/16GB DDR2 rig with a Gigabyte Z87 board. My job requires me to work with many large (>100GB) 64-bit Win10 virtual machines, and my Core i5 machine was thrashing too much. With this board and 6Gen Core i7 16GB DDR4, the difference is huge. Some tweaking was required - the delivered BIOS version 3401 had VT-X for hardware VM support but it was disabled with no way in the UEFI to enable it. Upgrading to BIOS v3601 fixed this and gives much more granularity over other CPU settings. BIOS flashing using the UEFI EZ-Flash tool was simple and straightforward. The MB has only 4 SATA ports. I need 6, so I ordered an IO Crest 4-port SATA III PCIe 2.0 x2 controller, SI-PEX40064 and also a JacobsParts USB 3.0 Front Panel Expansion Bay to take advantage of the 20-pin MB header. This was my first ASUS board in many years. I'm very pleased with the results and would readily buy it again.
