Brilliant Alternative For Cars Radios without Aux Jack or Bluetooth Output.
This is a great alternative if your car does not come already kitted with bluetooth or your radio does not have an aux jack. Once installed preferably with an approved installer, unless you can install it yourself, it works flawlessly (note you will need to purchase an additional SOT lead specifically for your model of car ) it bypasses the car radio so the radio doesn't need to be switched on, but the sound is routed through the car speakers. The kit comes with many useful features. You can pair up to two phones at a time and phonebook is downloaded on the kit for easy access it synchronises each time your phone connects to it and adds new contacts. Sound quality it brilliant whilst playing music, rich base sound, equaliser, base, volume etc can be adjusted to your liking using remote control, microphone works well during voice calls, though on occasion voice recognition doesn't appear to work well so you have to scroll through phone book to make a call which is a minor flaw which maybe over time may be rectified after it gets used to my pronunciation . Screen display is clear and easy to read, comes with aux cables so you can play music via ipod or any device that does not have bluetooth. The manufacturers have thought of everything as you can system update the kit via the usb cable supplied which negates the need to buy a newer kit in the future unless you really want to. Though the kit may appear expensive compared to the clip on or connect via cigarette lighter type bluetooth kits on the market it is worth every penny in the long run as it works really well and can be transferred to another car if you ever decide buy a new one. The only thing extra you will need in addition will be a new SOT to suit.

Works on a Mazda 2 (Model 2013)
I bought this device after lots of researching and after being told by a professional installer that it would not work with the OEM radio in a Mazda 2 (the one with LCD and volume button located inside a plastic circle below the CD slot). The car-compatibility wizard on the Parrot website, however, disagreed and advised me to to buy this adapter cable: INKA-902848-80-3A ISO SOT Mute Lead for Parrot... ...which fortunately worked (it seems that not all of the adapters advertised to be compatible with the Mazda 2 actually work). The MKi9200 is a somewhat basic BT kit but it works more or less flawlessly. The only gripe I have is that when using Bluetooth it takes the MKi9200 a few seconds to connect to, and synchronise with, my iPhone 4S. Also, pressing the play button on the remote does not cause the MKi9200 to start playing music even though the MKi9200 has synchronised with the phone. I have to jumpstart the Bluetooth connection by pressing the play button on the phone it self or go into the settings menu on the MKi9200 and select the 'connect' option. Only then will the play button on the little remote that comes with the MKi9200 start working as expected. The remote is a bit clunky but it is way more useful than I expected it to be. I glued mine to the steering wheel. Note that the iPhone is not listed in the device list in the MKi9200. I had to select the 'Force' option to get the MKi9200 to pair with my iPhone. Haven't tested the microphones yet. Edit: Have not found a workaround for having to 'jump start' music playing after synchronizing to get the play button on the remote working but the MKi9200 will transition smoothly into a song that is already playing on your iPhone when it boots up. Also tested the call feature. So far I have had none of the usual 'I can hardly hear you' complaints that one usually gets with hands free equipment, this feature works fine. As for Audio quality, dunno, considering the Bluetooth compression, an OEM radio and OEM speakers I'm quite happy with it. It does help to play around with the audio profiles in your phone but you may want to look elsewhere if you are an audiophile chasing concert quality.

purchased as a gift
I have one of these in my own car which I installed in myself. They are very easy to install, as long as you have some basic understanding of your cars electrical system then you can fit it yourself. The sound quality is so much better than some highend preinstalled systems I have experienced. For both cars I installed this into adaptors were needed as the connectors on this units wiring did not match the cars, and the wheel controls don't control this without yet another adaptor, so there is a little more expense than first thought with this. I use mine all the time, for playing back music from my phone via Bluetooth, sound won go as load this way but using it at normal levels you would never notice it was coming from a phone. updates happen frequently and deliver some good new functions, so far these updates have give me option of connecting two phones at the same time, voice call control (answering the phone), and one I have only partly experienced is text message read back (however I was changing track when I noticed it so I only got the first word of my text. Only real issue I found this time round is that I fitted this into a car with 5 speakers, and at the moment when a call comes in the middle front speaker wont mute. I'm sure this is a wiring issue but as yet I haven't tracked down the correct wiring changes that I need to make to fix it. one improvement I really want is for different connectors on the wired options, get a female USB port, a male headphone connector, and a 30 pin apple connector. I have a Nokia & a Blackberry which both have the very common mini USB, and using a cable into the USB port doesn't really work, and wont charge the phones. Think the USB port is more for the software upgrades than anything else. However would recommend any of the Parrot Car kits over most other systems out there.

A great music kit for my 2007 Toyota Prius!
A really great kit that adds Bluetooth music functionality found in newer cars to the older cars. It works perfectly in my Toyota Prius 2007 and the call quality and voice recognition is great. Interestingly it no longer has the dedicated Apple connector cable and instead only comes with a USB female cable and a 3.5mm AUX cable. Make sure that you buy a SOT cable for your vehicle as this is required for the installation as the cables that come with it are universal aftermarket adaptors and need another cable that to fit the adaptors unique to your car's system as each make/model of car is different. I highly recommend that people don't cheap out and pay the 50 pounds to have a certified Parrot installer install the kit so ensure that you don't have connection issues later on which I'm sure is why some people here have issues with the kit. When it's installed properly it's an amazing device that has perfect sound quality and zero connection issues. I wouldn't buy this from Amazon Warehouse Deals as I initially purchased it there only to find it was missing some of the parts so I had to sent it back and buy it new on Amazon.

Most people just plonk it in the glove box which takes no time and is easily done. The unit itself is great
In my newish style Fiesta this was a piece of cake to install as long as you have the right screwdrivers and sockets and know how to work them. A basic understanding of trim removal & replacing is important too. Youtube tutorials are your friend. It took maybe 3 hours all in although I faffed around for ages as I wanted the USB socket to be up by the driver side A pillar so I could plug the iPhone in when using sat nav. Most people just plonk it in the glove box which takes no time and is easily done. The unit itself is great. Compact and fully integrated and surprisingly easy to use. Calls are clear for both parties and music quality is surprisingly good. Although USB connection offers slightly higher quality than bluetooth as well as offering increased functionality.

Okay, but watch out for these problems
This is an update to my previous review which was 2 stars. I have used this unit with the HTC One M8 and lately the Galaxy S7 Edge. The Good: 1. The basic hands free calling features are good. The call quality is good both ways. 2. Music plays well via Bluetooth if you can work within the limits listed below. You can also load music onto the SD card that slots into the screen device. 3. You can customise the background image (although they made this somewhat tricky by forcing you to send a Bluetooth image at 320x240 to the device) and set colour themes. The Bad. 1. The first unit I had failed to play music at all. The supplier had to change the entire unit to get music to work, which indicates an overall quality control problem. 2. The only weak area in calling is voice recognition E.g. "Mum" is pronounced "Moa-m" by the text to speech, but when you say "mum" or even "moa-m" it can't match against your phonebook. Most people like to call their mums from time to time so that's an annoyance it can't recognise "mum". 3. Music via bluetooth is difficult to get going from starting up. Too many key presses, and inconsistent. If you have previously been playing songs on your phone, it should just need a single press of the "play" button on the remote, and indeed sometimes that does work. Instead mostly you have to muddle through the menus to select the phone and play, by which time you've probably run over half a dozen people. 4. The Bluetooth music player doesn't do a scan of the mp3s on phone like a media player would. So you can't select artist, song or album for example. It will only play the same song list that you were last playing in your phone. It is essentially a remote "play/back/forward/pause" control of the music player on your phone. Not what I expected from "top of the range" bluetooth car kit and I was also mis-sold by Halfords on this who said it had this feature. 5. Bluetooth music repeat/random options are hidden away in audio effects menu so you'll probably end up setting that on your phone before you leave. 6. My screen and mount were coupled too tight, making it very hard to remove the screen from the mount. Within a day I had pulled the mount off the dashboard due to the force required. I had to remount myself using some white spirit to clean the dashboard & mount and some no more nails double sided permanent tape. This is a design flaw and a great inconvenience. 7. The screen is ultra fragile. I managed to break it by putting in my pocket (with the provided case). Of course it should be robust enough to be carried in a pocket, as you would a phone. Leaving it in the car isn't an option as it will be stolen. I have tried to argue with Parrot that it is not fit for purpose if it can't be put in a pocket. e.g. Apple iPhone6 hat bent in peoples pockets were repaired under warranty. Bringing me onto the next point... 8. Customer service. They tell you to go through the retailer, which I did, and who were no help. So I got the retailer to send the unit to Parrot who promptly returned it. First they tried to tell me I dropped it - I DIDN'T. Then they said it is customer fault as it had an internal fracture (consistent with being stressed). Basically they hide behind the retailer (just look at their support page) and try to palm you off with excuses when something goes wrong. In the end I had to buy a replacement display unit myself. 9. There has been no software update in a year since I bought the unit. Why is that ? What kind of commitment to the device is that by Parrot? Of course it has flaws in the firmware that need addressing. As a side note the software upgrade procedure on their web site is bizarre and difficult. Why can't you put the upgrade file into the SD card into a prescribed folder/file name, instead of having to attach a USB drive to the USB cable? 10. When playing music, the track information is displayed on 2 lines. The top line tries to show too much information that scrolls painfully slowly across the screen: Artist and album. The bottom line shows the track name. Some customisation would be better here. e.g. user option of what to show, and option of 1,2 or 3 lines in use. 11. The volume when adjusted via the remote , pops up a nearly full screen volume view and takes an absolute age to disappear. You end up staring at the unit for ages waiting to see who the artist is whilst narrowly avoiding crashing the car. Much better would be to have an inline volume popup, a narrow horizontal strip that doesn't cover the mp3 information on-screen and doesn't stay there for half a millennia. Finally, I though for a long time t this one was a Parrot flaw, but it wasn't so I'll cut them some slack. There was often audio artefacts when playing music, little gaps in the audio that ruins the experience. However this only happened with my HTC One m8 and not with the Galaxy S7 Edge. So that must be a HTC Bluetooth flaw. Despite the problems I've upgraded the review to 3 stars from the previous 2, as it has actually kept my sanity while travelling 100 miles a day up and down the M1 so thank you Parrot for that and please listen to my comments.

Grab Yourself A Bargain Fir A Great Bit Of Kit.
This is the second kit I've purchased but this is a LOT cheaper buying via Amazon. I paid for professional fitting(£90) and it works superbly. The voice recognition works great so press the green button and say who you want to call and it's as easy as that. I store all my music now on usb sticks so you can have a lot more variety of music without cd cases covering your car. Just plug the stick in and the album cover is shown on the screen along with full track details. This is a great piece of kit so it's worth paying a bit more as this is quality. Thank you for an absolute bargain!!!!

Does the job
Really good product... makes driving when needing to use the phone a breeze. The only reason i have dropped it a star is the music quality isnt as good when you play it through bluetooth... Maybe thats just me being an Audio geek but it is noticeable.

Eccellente Kit Bluethoot aftermarket
Sicuramente la migliore soluzione per chi non vuole sostituire l'autoradio di serie. L'ho installato di persona sulla mia Golf 5 del 2007 con RCD 300. Funziona in maniera eccellente. In definitiva: CONSIGLIATISSIMO!

Awesome Bluetooth system
I've had this for over six months now. The phone connects almost instantly once the car is started, sound quality is excellent and the person calling me can hear me crystal clear. Connecting usb sticks, SD card and ipod works without any issues. highly recommended
