Satin Mahogany Concert Ukulele with White Binding (KA-C)

This ukulele was bought for me as a present.when presented with it I first thought it would be a toy not as it turns out a serious instrument. How wrong I was, if you wish to learn to play a ukulele buy a Karla ka-c concert, I am a reasonable guitar player and so was able to learn quite quickly, the support on the Internet is amazing for these instruments. This uke by Karla is outstanding value for money it stays in tune it sounds good, it looks good, it has a quality nut and bridge and Aquila strings. Must mention omega music the supplier I am sure they must give these instruments the once over before sale because my example just plays so well, being a concert size gives more room for fingering, I can't put the damn thing down, JUST BUY IT!

I've played guitar for many years now, but over the the last few I decided to take up a learn to play some new instruments. First was a harmonica, then the Irish whistle and this year I decided upon the Ukulele. After checking out a host of Ukulele reviews the Kala KA-C seemed to be favored by a lot of players. So that's the model I went for. I must admit that I'm delighted with this little instrument. The quality of the tuners and good strings help to keep the instrument in tune for extended playing. After researching the correct way to both hold and strum the Ukulele, I'm getting a pleasing overall sound from this instrument. The woods used to construct this model give a good rounded sound and the instrument will fit in very nicely on some of the songs I play within the Folk Band I perform with. This is a great little instrument to play as a starter and good enough to hold it's own for live performance. I would be surprised if you can find a fault with this little gem. I love it.

I can recommend this Uke - I started learning to play when I was 68 just over two years ago when I purchased a small £35.00 uke. I must have fat fingers and struggled to hit the chords withourt overlapping the frets etc. After struggling for 12 months I upgraded to a £80.00 tenor uke and that was much better for me. Finally my wife bought me this lovely Kala for my 70th and it's great - looks nice and a soft melllow tone. I had nevr played an instrument before and with lots of practice can now knock out @ 200 tunes that sound half decent.

Well made uke with mahogany laminate front. Good sound and playability. My instrument from Amazon arrived with slight intonation problems so to fix I shaved the underside of the bridge slightly. In light of this, prospective buyers might consider buying from a specialist ukulele shop. I notice that there is now little or no price differential and given that Southern Ukulele (no connection!) for example, will give the instrument a once over before they post (free to the UK), it's worth checking around. For guitarists or the more podgy-fingered who like just a little more room on the fret board, or if you intend to play jazz style inversions further up the neck, you might consider the longer necked version Kala KA SLNG (also soprano body) for only £5 more. Or again, although inevitably a slightly thicker tone (same tuning) a concert sized ukulele might be a thought? This being said, would strongly recommend this traditional ukulele.

We have a couple of Ukulele's now. My 8YO Daughter and I (42) are learning together. I bought her this Kala and settled for a generic branded one for myself. Now I'm jealous as the Kala sounds so much better (and wasn't that much more expensive). I'll post a video shortly, but it's difficult to hear the detail of the timbre in a video. Compared to the cheaper one, the Kala sounds warmer, still giving a strong sound but more rounded and mellow. It's not at all twangy or crass in its sound. Definitely more Hawaiian beach than George Formby. After a few weeks of retuning the Uke kept in tune and we didn't have to ask Alexa for help (which she always obliges with).

This is my favourite ukulele I own. I have a few ukuleles (a kala baritone, then some lower budget brand - soprano, tenor and banjo), I brought this to upgrade my lower budget tenor and it is so great. It looks great (quite a unique wood effect), it sounds great (I put a low G string on mine, just my preference) and it is really good value for money. Highly recommend

I’ve been playing ukulele for a few years, but have never spent a great deal on an instrument. I wanted to invest in a better uke, but didn’t have a lot of money to spend on something super fancy. After reading some reviews, I settled on this beauty, and I’m positive I made the right choice. The first thing I noticed was the the construction quality. It really is a good looking ukulele, and one that’s built to last. When I tuned up and started to play, I felt an immediate difference to my other ukes. The action is just about perfect out of the box, and it feels like a real joy to play. I noticed a huge step up in terms of tone and sustain, and for not that much more money. If you’re considering a ukulele in the £100-ish range, I’d encourage you to consider spending a little more for one of these. For the price, it’s really difficult to imagine a better purchase.

I started off playing uke during lockdown and bought a really cheap one in case I didn't stick with i. I then graduated to the Kala which is good value for money and oh my word the sound quality is so different. I cannot actually say I sound any good yet but I can appreciate the lovely tone of this instrument and the quality feel of the make. Really good value for money.

Upgrading from a beginner’s ukulele. For the significant improvement in sound quality, this uke is very reasonably priced. Sturdy with a nicely crafted body.

Un superbe instrument avec une belle sonorité pour le prix. Au début se désaccorde souvent mais au bout de deux semaines, tiens très bien l'accordage. J'ai changé la corde de Sol par un Low G, c'est parfait :)

Ho comprato questo ukulele soprano a settembre 2017. Dopo svariati mesi di utilizzo, mi ritengo molto soddisfatta di questo strumento! È un ukulele ottimo per iniziare a suonare, ma anche per quei musicisti un po’ più esperti che vogliono divertirsi e sperimentare qualcosa di nuovo. Il legno, la parte più importante, conferisce allo strumento un suono caldo e un buon groove complessivo. Inoltre viene spedito con corde Aquile già montate, il che è assolutamente un punto in più di grande importanza! Nel complesso ritengo di aver fatto un buonissimo acquisto; si ha la sensazione di avere in mano uno strumento di grande solidità! Come al solito, tempi di consegna e spedizione perfetti.

This Ukulele is great, sounds very nice to the ears, it has a warmth sound, full and rounded. Highly recommended!
