Quaker Yellow Corn Meal 680g

Watched a cookery program for american corn dogs so thought I would give them a try, could not find it in any of my local shops, and was supprised it was sold on this site but glad it was, very quick delivery. Big tub should make loads, even if I did mess up my first batch.

Good quality cornmeal with the right texture for proper American corn bread. The stuff in the supermarkets sold as cornmeal doesn't come close. I still don't know why they put sugar in the cornbread recipe, though. My granny didn't, but then she was from East Texas. I wish I could find proper buttermilk.

Not quite what I expected; it's coarser than I would have wanted, and as such, good for making polenta, but not so good for use on its own to make cakes. It's too crunchy....

Love corn meal. I can usually buy it online in Ireland for €3 so this was overpriced also was not as pictured, I received a Quaker round container not a aunt jemima brand box. Still makes great cornbread though

It can be hard to find good corn meal in normal grocery stores in the UK, so I was pleased with this. Successfully made a few of the dishes I was missing from the US. I used it to make the following, with no issue whatsoever: - hush puppies - cornbread - polenta

Half of the contents are scattered in the packaging as the container is smashed. Only 4 months shelf life.

Product is exactly what I was looking for the only problem is the "best before date". Normally dried goods have a long life span when you purchase them in a shop (yesterday I just bought flour from Waitrose and it expires in Jan 2014!!!!! Rice: Dec 2013, other rice flour, Jan 2014, etc) I have only until August 2013 to use the product (today is the 13th of June 2013) Is this a bloody joke or did you think I am here to just empty your overstock of goods that are expiring soon?! And of course I stupidly opened the product before to check the "best before date" so now I am totally screwed!.............................. FIRST AND LAST PURCHASE FROM YOU

I give it 5 stars as it does exactly what it says on the tin. A little expensive but if you want to try corn bread..........

We love this corn meal for our recipes. Breads, dumplings, and pancakes shift to the next level with a little corn meal. The easy storage packaging is another bonus!

I paid about twice as much for this product as I would at my grocery store.
