For a DIY off-grid extension outlet
I'm installing a dedicated off-grid extension to run from my solar system to a freezer. Rather than taking a chance of using a pigtail with Edison males on both ends (dangerous!) to plug an AC out from my inverter into, I ordered a single shore-power-type inlet, which has not come yet. I ordered this plate at the same time, hoping it will be a decent fit so I can use an existing standard outlet box (detached from the grid) for the power inlet. The plate hole is a little larger than the 1.75" the instructions say to drill for the power inlet, but I think it should work with the outer ring of the inlet; if it doesn't, I can cut a backing plate.
