I just bought a new Dell XPS 15 9560 laptop, this has a nice thin form factor with great specifications but this introduces issues when playing very demanding games, often the laptop gets warm and will thermal throttle. This is where the laptop intentionally reduces its CPU or GPU clock speeds to lower temperatures. When playing a game this can result in the gameplay frame rate suddenly shooting down into an unplayable state. For this reason I bought this cooling stand.The stand is common sense to set up, it comes with a USB to USB cable, which plugs onto the stand and into one of your laptop's USB ports. So that it doesn't waste a USB port, the cooling stand has an additional USB that you can plug whatever was previously in that port back into.I bought the 5-fan version of the stand, this has four smaller fans and one large central fan. Of the four smaller fans, the two bottom ones suck from the laptop, and the other 3 fans blow onto the laptop (I'm not really sure why it has this configuration though).The fan speed modes can be adjusted using the buttons at the bottom, there are 6 fan speed modes.At full fan speed I expected a little more air to be blown than there was, it felt a little lacklustre, especially for £24 - however this airflow was still sufficient to stop my laptop Thermal Throttling so I can't complain! The build quality is a little cheap, using creaky and flexible plastic.There are 5 different angle configurations, since using the laptop flat against the desk isn't comfortable due to the increased elevation from the cooling stand. I think this makes the laptop much more ergonomic to use on a desk.The entire cooling stand can be turned on or off without needing to unplug it. Even when switched off the device connected in the second USB port stays working.The stand does the job though! Before when playing games like Playerunknown's Battlegrounds after about 45 minutes of playing my frame rate dipped down significantly, now it does not, as the laptop stays cool enough to not need to thermal throttle anymore! So the stand did everything I bought it for. For this reason I'd recommend it despite the slight flaws I mentioned.

Although I was hoping for an actual temperature readout on the display. It performs really well and hasn't faltered as of yet. I've been monitoring the temperature through a 3rd party application. It has decreased dramatically, very pleased. I hope it continues to perform well.-MrZerokwl

You would not believe how hot my Acer Aspire 8951G became during its use. So hot it ruined the SSD. Reinstalled new SSD and Windows 10 Pro. It's now nice and cool and running even better than when first new. Strongly recommended.

Bought this as a cooling stand for Alienware Alpha, was impressed with the looks and fans are actually pretty good, the only problem is the control panel on the front is awful it's cheap and doesn't work properly, the buttons have to pressed so hard you feel like your gunning to brake the product.over all its not too bad for the price but if I had to chose again I would spend that bit extra for a better built cooling fan.

This Pad did all I was told it would do, it is possible to hear the fan running but no nosier than the lap tops fan, it cools my lap top so well I no longer have to use ice packs, so far I have only used it on the third setting, so plenty left if needed

Keeps my laptop cool, other than when it’s charging. Keep in mind I have a gaming laptop, so it’s bound to get hot! Great product with different speeds for the fans. Would 100% buy again.

Really noisy even on the slowest preset. No last preset memory, so every time you open the laptop it starts at 50% and not on your desired speed.

At first glance this looks good. The adjustable stand is great and the size fits my 15" laptop. It also can shift quite a lot if air to keep the laptop cool. However, one of the outside small fans is extremely noisy even on the slowest speeds so I can only run it with the single central fan running. Also, the buttons for controlling the operation are hopeless. You cannot operate them with the pad of your finger - you have to use your nail, which will undoubtedly result in damage to the buttons in time. The website says you can turn of the "decoration" LEDs by pressing the "+" button for 3 seconds, but this does not work. The LCD shows a "manu" legend which implies manual operation, and you can see the alternate "auto" in the display but this model does not allow this to be selected.All-in-all I could not recommend this product because of the noise generated by one of the fans making it unusable. Also the difficulty operating the buttons is a real pain as every time you turn on the unit it defaults to setting 3 and you then have to use the buttons to change to a different speed if you want it.
