Alaska [Filton] Futon Bunk Bed Frame Only

This is a great bed and my son loves it. Thank fully I didn't have to build it up - someone did it for us and I think it took some doing. But it seems to be good quality. Haven't slept on the futon bed bit yet so can't comment on how comfy that is but the sofa is spacious.

Solid but basic, this bed has the slight drawback that you need to move it out from the wall each time you want to extend the lower (double) bed, unless you position it about 9 inches (23cm) away from the wall permanently. If you do need it back against the wall when the bottom bed is not in use then watch out for the ladder being damaged when dragging the rather heavy assembly backwards and forwards. It also has some rough edges and sticky-out bolts and screw heads, especially below the bed where it tore an under bed storage container, but perfection cannot be expected at this price. It took a while longer than we thought to assemble as the instruction sheet caused some confusion. The (lower) support section - for the double bed has with the orientation of parts 4 and 5 being shown the wrong way around. In pictures 1 to 3 they are shown with the larger dimension at the back of the bed, in relation to the holes drilled in the uprights, but when assembled (so that the double does not collide with the steps to the bunk when fully assembled) the larger dimension is in fact at the front. Drawing 4 puts this right, although the dimensions are still not drawn correctly to scale in any drawing - although the holes do move around.

Still trying to build it. It came with certain parts having no numbers therefore we had to take parts off and start again. Very confusing. I am sure my sons will love it when it is eventually built but it is nothing like the one on video on you tube which looked really easy. Will be relieved when it is finally built but was a real pain in the bum to build. There are screws that only have a few mm between them and they have to go in the right place as we didn't and have now got wrong screws for the ladder which don't fit. Very frustrating. The instructions could be MUCH clearer

This took about six hours to build the instructions are poor the parts are not numbered some of the holes are not cut properly the clip in the middle of the futon base is useless and the top bunk slats were a joke trying to get them on and the ladder doesnt fit if you want to put the futon up and down would have sent them back if it wasnt for the fact I had already dismantled and discarded old beds

Brilliant thing. Used it when I have guests and can't accommodate other way. It took me 6 good hours to install it, but I managed to do it by myself. Most of the time I've spend it trying to read the instructions as they are not very accurate. I thing that if the instructions are made more precise, the whole thing wouldn't take more then 3 hours. Definitely recommended.

arrived prompt after ordering & all in order. We bought this bed for my son, to give his bedroom a more practical side to it & since he has had it, he has been really happy. The bed definately needed 2 people to construct & a couple of hours to do so. Instructions are ok but good to bounce off someone else to make sure you have it right!. , but once up sturdy. The Futon bed is easy to convert & comfortable as an occasional bed

Not a disappointment.... item as expected.... just the bed frame. However, should you not be paying attention.... you may be mislead to think that the product does have either or both of the mattresses, as there where no details provided with this product (photographic images suggest mattresses included).... however the price does not. I hope this feedback is helpful to others.

My son loves the seat / double bed feature, which is ideal for him chilling with his friends or in bed mode, an easy to make bed for his best mate to stay over with. to convert the seat to a bed takes 10 seconds
