Pest Grade Diatomaceous Earth 350g

This product will work, but you need to know the right technique before applying it. This is not a poison; it is comprised of microscopic sharp particles that slice up the exoskeleton of insects causing them to dry out. Think of it as a very fine sand. It is a brownish powder and non toxic to humans and most household pets (safe around cats, dogs, etc) although I would advise avoiding too much exposure. If they get it on their paws or lick a little bit of it you have nothing to worry about. I bought this to treat a silverfish infestation and I was successful. Here is my method: - Keep a note of where you regularly find the insects, you will usually find them roaming at night and they love places like bathrooms or closets - Check these areas carefully and think about where they are hiding - cracks around doors or skirting boards are very common places for them to hide. If you have a tiled floor pay particular attention to the edge of the tiles and the skirting board. - These insects usually run along skirting boards - factor this in to your treatment plan - Sprinkle the powder along the path you want to treat. It will tend to come out in clumps at first. - Take a brush with stiff bristles and brush the powder around, spreading it out into a very fine layer. - Brush some of that powder towards the walls/cracks and make sure some gets into the cracks. - If there are any large gaps and you can't seal them, put extra powder down into the gaps It is important to apply it in a very fine layer so that the insects walk through it rather than around it. I applied it to an area extending 5cm from the skirting boards. During the first few nights you will spot the insects as they come out to roam. They will trek the powder back into their hiding places contaminating those places - this is what you want. After a week or so I stopped seeing the insects every night. After a month - I have not seen any of them! Make sure you re-apply this every few days and after vacuuming otherwise the insects will return. I strongly recommend giving this a try.

I found this worked really well, in conjunction with Indorex, to kill off any fleas in the home. When I treated the house, I added this to the Hoover as well, so there was no escape for the little pests. I also used this to brush directly into my cats fur and it certainly did the job. My house and cat were flea free within 3 days. My cat wasn't sure about it at first. She was aware there was something different on her fur and bedding and wasn't totally happy, so I had to add this bit by bit over time. It was worth the effort though and she's now getting used to it. Always use it sparingly as too much can irritate the lungs. Having stopped the infestation I now use this on my cat once a week and on her bedding once a month, to keep away any unwanted visitors. I've marked this down slightly as it isn't the easiest to apply (given its light dusty nature). It would benefit from some sort of applicator/nozzle.

I live in an apartment and have issues with Silverfish. I would only see one crawling around near my bathroom at night, but more recently started to see them in other rooms. To tackle the issue, my first step was a deep clean of my entire apartment, including cupboards, ensuring all open packs of food were stored away in airtight containers. I disposed of any cardboard/ paper lying around. Next, I sprinkled the earth around all entry points along the skirting boards, under the sink, dishwasher and other appliances and left the earth as it for a week or so while I didn’t have any scheduled visitors. During this time, I didn’t see any Silverfish and proceeded to block entry points with wire mesh and caulk, cleaning residue earth with a cloth. I used purchased a dehumidifier for my bathroom as and I have no windows and my extractor isn’t very powerful. The deep clean, food storage, earth, removal of paper/cardboard, filling of entry points and the dehumidifier seems to have completely eradicated the issue! The earth alone seemed to have done the trick, but advice online suggested using multiple methods to get rid of Silverfish so I just tried everything. I’ll continue to sprinkle earth every few weeks, but for now I can say I’m very impressed by the results.

it is not too bad if you leave for a few days could help you a bit however it is not killied bed bugs or lice it is a good for spiders or cockroaches I used this and it is still come back.

So I have had a bedbug problem in my room for a few months now (on a small scale, just 4 or 5 hidden over the place, but nothing near an infestation). I know it's bedbugs and not mosquitos since I did find 2 (only 2, but they were definitely bedbugs and I found their black marks on my bed frame). I took my bed completely apart, steam cleaned everything, sprayed everything using the Protector C spray then put the bed back together (also sprayed all over the room, not just the bed). The bites stopped coming for a few days but began again! With 1 or 2 a night. So, I figured I'd might as well try this diatomaceous earth product. I put it in most corners of the room and especially under the bed wheels, wall behind the bed and under table legs. I still got bitten 2 days after I put this product down, but after that, I stopped getting any bites!!! Magic or what, I don't know but this actually works!! It's been nearly 2 weeks now and I haven't been bitten anymore :) A year later: no bites since. I don't know if it was the Protector C spray or this for sure, but these will solve your bedbug problems.

Fleas dying a fair death! After bombs, collars, frontline and every other type of anti flea product I fell on this. It does take a while to kill them all, I presume eggs hatching and being killed. After a week I can say I have stopped being bitten and the dog and cat are both much happier. It is very hard to get out of the carpet from the point of view of the sprinkling, but so is shake and vac. Put it in your Hoover, your bedding, cushions well everywhere. I put it on my dog and cat and they are fine with it. After a terrible year of fleas coming and never really going ( the vet says it is normal right now), we are finally free! I bought 3 bottles. They go very, very far.

The tub is huge and I really only used a tiny bit to cover a couple of pot plants. Seemed to help with my fungus gnat problem around two small plants in my house but not entirely, and I had to fully repot the plants and even then there are some flying around my house still. I just put a layer on top around the plants, and left it for a couple of days after which I did see dead gnats on the windowsill around the plant. I used it in combination with yellow sticky traps and it seemed to work well enough. Only four stars as I still have some gnats around that escaped the diatompest

This is my first year in student accommodation my room was filled with silverfish. All the furniture is fixed which made it difficult to get rid of them. They were everywhere - on the ceiling, floor, desk and even in my bed! I had tried traps but they only caught a few so I got some diatomaceous earth, put it around the skirting and now, a couple weeks later, the only silverfish I find are dead ones. You don't notice how much an infestation can dampen your mood until you no longer have one and I'm now really enjoying living away from home. Really effective product - would recommend to anyone facing a silverfish infestation.
