These are the best buckets I have used in a long, long time. I use them for nutrient storage for my indoor hydroponic systems, and because they are black, no algae forms inside. The buckets are very thick plastic and I expect them to last forever. The lids are a bit difficult to open, due to the thickness of the plastic, but I solved that by making 1/8" slits with a box cutter, between the locking tabs. That gave enough flexibility to make opening much easier. After 6 weeks the cuts have not increased in size, and I open and close every day. Extremely happy with these buckets!

I used one to replace a bucket in the Master Bath. We have well water and the bath is a bit far from the hot water heater. Thus about two gallons of water is run down the drain to the septic system just warming up the shower. So I use the bucket for storing the water which would flow down the drain. I can lift the toilet tank lid and dump in water to refill the tank. I took the others and drilled a hold in the side about an inch above the bottom and put a bucket spigot in. I tapped the filter housing for my sediment filter housing so I can flush out the sidiment build up from the well. I let the water settle. After settling for a day or so it is transferred into a 175 gallon. That tank is used to store water from back flushing the clarifier for the well system after it runs through a sediment filter. This system is used for flushing toilets in the house through a separate water line. Extends the life of my septic system along with lowering electric costs.

It would be nice if they shipped the gaskets separately have to pull out gaskets before washing the lid or water gets trapped behind the gasket. You can also use maybe a spoon or fork to get under the gaskets lifting gaskets out from below. Overall, very satisfied the regular snap on lids stay closed tightly, reusable.

Strong, stable, work well as a tool bucket. Good handles.

These are great buckets. I purchased them to use as hydroponic base for a grow tower. The lids are very sturdy as well as the buckets.
