PowerBee do the best solar powered products ever from my experience. Yes, they are generally a little more expensive, but this is a case of 'you get what you pay for'. They come on at dusk like clockwork and remain lit throughout most of the night. In winter, I have found that this reduces a little (they tend to go off at about 2am, but who is sat on their patio at 2am on a winter's evening?). My garden tends to be a little shady, so if you have a south facing garden, these things will most likely work 24/7. The emitted light is warm and bright, and the solar charging panel is robust, adjustable (you can tilt it to face the sun) and effective. Way better than those cheapies you can buy at B&M etc.

Great to start with , but don't last very long.

Disappointed - This is the second one of these that I have bought. Then why the 2 stars if I'm a repeat customer? The first one I bought was exactly a year ago and has performed excellently and still going strong, even on cloudy days it performs well and lasts a good few hours. Everyone that comes round can't believe they're so bright, even in the winter months and all from a solar panel. On opening this one I was delighted to see a larger solar panel (I think its 2/3 bigger, possibly even double the size), I figured this one would far outperform the older version. I rigged it up in the adjacent room to my other one around the window frame; long story short, this one is very poor compared to the older version I have. Its already drained, seems to receive almost no charge and lasts minutes compared to the other one lasting hours. I think myself lucky, I was going to buy one for every room in the house eventually. I will not be repeat buying again. I'd like to recommend not buying this one and trying to buy the older version they have of this item, but I'm fairly sure this one has superseded that one. I'm going to check the returns policy on this item, i'm that disappointed.

These do need a lot of sunlight to charge during the day. Found they are struggling a bit in the winter weather. I keep worrying that they are broken, but they come back to life after a good sunny day. I bought 2 sets & one is better than the other.

Very nice and bright the first night; dim the second night; and dead on night three. It's December so the days are short, but the solar panel is well positioned in full daylight - just doesn't seem to be charging. Maybe it'll come back to life in the summer.... Update: on the fourth night, without me changing anything, it has recharged itself and is as bright as it was on the first night. So maybe it's just temperamental!

I recently purchased these fairy lights for some trees in my garden and they're the best lights I have every bought, In fact I liked them so much that I purchased another two sets. The colour is a lovely warm yellow, although my other two sets are whiter, to give a contrast. Although I live in Spain and get a lot of sun, we did experience a week of continual rain with no sun whatsoever and the lights still came on really bright from 9 pm until 6.30 am the next morning. Amazing. I also love the choice of patterns. I've got all 3 trees with a different pattern to mix it up a bit and they look fantastic. If you're going to buy solar lights then don't go anywhere else!!

Bought these to decorate the balcony of a house I rent in India during the winter, they arrived quickly and well packaged. There are frequent power cuts in India but lots of sunshine so they seemed ideal. The battery unit is a good size and seems very robust, I mounted it on the north facing roof of the balcony not expecting it to charge fully in this direction but was pleasantly surprised when the lights came on at dusk. The warm white glow from the lamps is not super bright but is subtle like tea light candles and gives an ambiance to the terracotta roof tiles of the balcony. The solar charge is providing enough energy to power the lights all night and they have operated faultlessly for two months now, highly recommended.

Supposedly long lasting lights, I spent an hour installing these on my gazebo only for them to stop working 4 days later, didn't keep the packaging so unable to return. Complete waste of money
