Love this watch. You should buy one.
Only a couple of days into my G-Shock owning career, but already I know it'll be a long and fulfilling one. Have been through many, many cheap watches that have pretty much disintegrated with the stresses of work and the gym, and I have no idea why it's taken me 31 and a half years to buy a G-Shock.I deliberated for ages between this and a couple of analogue models, but decided on this because I need a clear 24hr display for work. I was almost drawn in and put off by a couple of bad reviews saying that the display isn't clear enough, but it's absolutely fine and the backlight is plenty bright enough.There a some really nice functions like automatic light, world time with the added ability to set 4 different time zones for quick reference, 'daylight savings time' setting and a countdown timer, as well as the usual alarm and stop watch functions.It's definitely worth reading the manual. I am generally not a manual reader but the downside of multiple cool functions means that it's not quite as 'pick up & play' as cheap watches.It's bulky (which I think is a good thing in this case) but also quite understated, it's obviously very robust and of excellent quality, despite the relatively low price..I'm very, very happy with this watch and would buy another G-Shock.

Casio GD-100-1AER
I bought this because my Police watch broke down and I needed a spare. I was attracted by the size of the watch and it's rugged styling. I am really pleased with how it looks and is now my first watch of choice. It looks great on my wrist and people who comment are now interested in G-Shock for themselves or for others as a present. It takes a bit of time to get used to it but if you read the instructions first then you should be quicker in getting it set up the way you want. The backlight is completely fine, not too dull at all although the beep of the alarm or hour chime are very low but this is not important to me.I feel this is great value for money and I'm very happy with it and would perhaps consider getting another should my other watch, ( a Citizen ) stop working. Chuffed!The delivery was quicker than I had expected as the page said it may require 2 extra days for delivery but it arrived in normal postal time.

Better than expected
I initially bought a Fossil CH2586 watch but after struggling to read the time with its black face and black hands I sent it back and started looking for that perfect watch.After searching for a week I decided that the G-shock GD-100 range was the watch for me. I first looked at the analogue digital models but the hands covered the small digital displays. I then saw the GD-100-1AER at under £60 and it was a no brainer.The watch is absolutely packed with features, has a great backlight and is very comfortable to wear. I was worried that the large case would look a bit silly but it actually looks fantastic. The display and digits are very clear and the backlight super bright so the display is always easy to read. The Fossil CH2586 is a good looking watch but I never felt 'cool' wearing it, the Casio really does make a statement and I love wearing it.It's also nice knowing you can swim with it and knock it around a bit without worrying.Highly recommended.

Great Watch A++
Well priced G-SHOCK mid range just, I feel. It illuminates the watch face very well. Its a light weight yet feels like very sturdy. Read the instructions atleast once as setting the time being a world time clock can be a bit tricky as you must remember to set the YEAR then the time then turn on DST function job done.Good sized watch face.great night light/ low light reading with light function.fits large wrists like mine. so more than 8/9 inches maybe abit more.

Good looking, comfortable, sturdy. Not sure about the battery saving...
Oh yeah! Looks great on the wrist. I looked at so many G-Shocks online, in jewellers and even in the G-Shock store up in London. I appreciate everyone has different taste but this one is the sexiest I've seen, it looks and feels great.I was initially put off by the fact the date is in the American format of mm/dd and cannot be switched to dd/mm. However, I have adapted quickly despite thinking I might not. I would also say that the time is harder to read compared with other watches I've owned, but in reality this means I just hold the watch up slightly longer to read the time, or I draw it slightly closer to my face - it isn't so bad that it spoils the enjoyment of this.... sexy watch.However Casio drops a star and disappoints me with their battery saving ideas. The watch comes by default to only keep the illumination on for 1.5 seconds. This sounds enough, but it really isn't and most people will be changing that to 3 seconds in the settings. However, they went too far and have ruined the auto-illuminate feature for me. It works well - when I twist my wrist up to read the time, it illuminates the display - great. The problem? To save the battery, the watch automatically drops out of auto-illuminate mode after 6 hours, according to the manual. Nobody wants to have to keep remembering to re-enable a feature they like every 6 hours Casio. There should be an option to disable the auto-switch-off so that people can have the feature permanently on and live with the reduced battery life if they so wish.Overall though, I'm very happy with this watch. Good looking, comfortable, sturdy.

So far so good and great value for money.
Fit is great and comes in a fantastic case and packaging. A lot of digital watch chimes can be annoying or too loud but this one is subtle and the added flash is a bonus. I like the motion activated light but this turns off after a few hours and you need to set it again. Not an issue as I love this feature. The watch is big but not huge on your wrist as g shock is renowned for creating larger watches. It feels perfect for me.So pleased I went for this design and colour.
