Bought this as I needed some Deep Heat following a car accident and getting a bit fed up on relying on a hot water bottle. I've also found the cream tubes for Deep Heat tend to break and leak a little, so this is perfect for anyone on the move or who doesn't like to get their hands covered in the cream. Initially I rollered this on the problem areas and didn't feel much (in comparison to the standard Deep Heat). However... about 5-10 minutes later and honestly my skin is on fire! Incredibly effective - pain has gone (likely albeit temporarily). I would say it's as hot on the skin as a fresh hot water bottle without the cover on. Definitely not for the weak, but very much worth it.

Have used deep heat for years and always found it works for me, and this is a much improved product. It can be applied easily even in hard to reach places and no lingering smell on your hands. Perfect.

I'm a woman of a certain age, and everything hurts. That was where I was at when I realised that not only was the injury I sustained from sitting next to a man-spreading git at a comedy gig a couple of weeks ago not getting any better, but I had nothing to put on it to make it feel temporarily a bit nicer. I had run out of Deep Heat Muscle Massage Roll On. I kid you not, I am of an age that merely 'sitting a bit funny' can result in the sort of painful tendon/ligament injury that renders me unable to walk up steps without wincing, and makes the gym impossible. There was nothing else for it, I had to order some more of this product PDQ. Thankfully, my amazing Amazon Prime account allowed for delivery on the same day as I ordered, so my aching joints could get their blessed relief. I tore off the cardboard with abandon when the package arrived, eager to roll on a bit of the good stuff. I quickly applied the warming gel/lotion to my hip area, and added some to my shoulders for good measure as I'd been hunched over a desk all day on a mission to get all of my work up to date before some well-deserved time off coming up a few days later. Immediately, the tingling sensation hit me, soothing the aching neck first and then starting to take effect on my hip. The feeling was pleasant, the heat not too hot, and just a little bit tingly. Sadly, after about 30 minutes, the relief had begun to wear off and I started to feel like the menopausal middle-aged old crone that I am. But for those brief 30 minutes. I felt the gentle, soothing warmth of a Deep Heat hug, and for that, I am grateful. Yes, I am available for ad copywriting :-)

Amazing stuff and very handy in a roller

Great product but fed up receiving these where the lotion does not come out the applicator as the ball gets stuck.

My Dad has run a football club since before I was born and the scent of Deep Heat can trigger some of my earliest memories. Pungent, eye-watering and somehow masculine, it's iconic. I suffer with fibromyalgia and tubes of Deep Heat offered much relief but working in a customer facing department, the smell does not make for a good first impression. I thought I would give this roller ball a try and was delighted. The lotion inside is runnier than the thick unguent of metal tubes past, but is just as potent. Running the rollerball once over an affected area and either allowing to airdry or massage in, the lotion begins its work, taking time to warm up, but penetrating deep into painful muscles. If you find that this doesn't work quite as well, apply heat (with a heating pad or hot water bottle) to increase its strength without adding any more lotion. The smell has also been watered down, allowing my to spritz on a small amount of perfume to cover any obvious lingering scent and get on with my day. And the main selling point is the rollerball itself, allowing you to precisely place the lotion where it needs to go to have the greatest effect. I have, many times, while in incredible pain, squeezed out too much of many creams and been faced with slathering areas that do not need it or discarding expensive lotions straight into the bin. Not with this rollerball, it applies the precise amount needed and also allows you to apply in those hard to reach areas, without asking for assistance.

Bought this for easing my menstrual cramps and i'm in awe of how quickly it heats up. The heat stings a little but is effective. Definitely recommend doing a skin test first to see how you tolerate the heat.
