Fabulous bed!
It's been two months since we bought this bed, and it's been in almost non-stop use since then, leaving both our guests and us extremely satisfied with the purchase. Before buying this I was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews here. I certainly did not want my new bed to break under any of my guests. Thankfully, with this bed we need not have worried! My 13 y.o. daughter (ca. 45 kilos) slept on it for three weeks, having given her bed to her grandmother who was visiting us. After our guest left, however, she had no desire to go back to her regular (very comfy!) bed, and ended up sleeping on a JAY-BE bed for two more weeks, on a nightly basis. I guess that says it all about the level of comfort and durability of this amazing folding bed.Afterwards, my husband (ca. 80 kilos)!slept on it for a couple of nights, while working on a project, and found it comfy and durable. To sum up, we could not recommend this bed more. I would easily pay double its price for this kind of quality.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND...VERY COMFY
Had to write this review because i had been looking at this for weeks before actually purchasing it and there were a lot of bad reviews especially regarding the slats breaking.i bought this bed for constant every night use, but didn;t have room for an actual real bed and needed something i could put in a cupboard. This bed is just as comfy as any normal bed. i like the width of it becsaue it is wide enough to spread out, whereras some fold up beds are quite narrow and you're stuck sleeping in the same position all night. The headboard is a good idea, not only becasue it looks and feels like a normal bed once set up and also for the handy shelf when folded, it also stops pillows sliding off the end while sleeping.i found it very easy to put together, all you have to do is put the castor wheels on and screw the headboard on...very easy, i did it myself in less than 20 minutes. It's not heavy, so easy to open out and fold back up again within seconds. As for the slats...i can see how they could snap easily as they do look a bit flimsy, however i have not had any breakages so far and as i have said i have been sleeping in this every night for the past month. I could maybe see how they would break if you had kids jumping on it, but for a normal adult just lying down sleeping it is more than satisfactory.i would highly recommend this bed...good price, easy to set up, lightweight enough to put away, comfortable good size mattress.

Great little guest bed
We bought this bed for when our granddaughter comes to stay - it folds away neatly and provides a comfortable bed for a small person like her. One of our sons has also slept on it (he's 6'4"!!) and although he said it was okay his feet kept hanging off the end and there really wasn't adequate room, but then we didn't buy it for him to use on a regular basis! Bearing in mind that this bed is a reduced width size to the normal single bed size, that it is a fold-away and that it was not hugely expensive then I think I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a small guest bed. Great value.

Inadequate for and adult
This product is quite well constructed and would be ok as a 'put u up' however it's one failing is the base slats. These have been manufactured from 6-8mm thick plywood and then had a curve induced into them (presumably in a steam chest) to provide 'spring' in my opinion as an engineer the choice of material section (thickness) is woefully inadequate. They may be ok to support the weight of a child providing they didn't jump up and down on the bed, but sadly lacking when it comes to an 18 stone adult, they break, as happened with mine. When it occurred to my friend we just had a good laugh about it but there are far more serious implications attached to this product inadequacies, someone could get hurt. I have now strengthened the slats on mine but on reflection would not consider buying this or any other product made by Jaybe in the future unless they address the inherent problems. In conclusion, NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

Functional, with a few downsides.
This bed is fine for light use. The slats are not of the best quality, and I recently found that one had cracked quite severely after sneezing whilst in bed. Luckily the slats are replaceable (and replacement slats are easily purchased). The mattress is a decent quality. It is thick enough you cannot feel the slats, but it does fairly rapidly deteriorate in thickness... particularly around the mid-section, the area that most supports bodyweight. It's usable as an everyday bed with some modification, replacing the slats is a must and a mattress - or new mattress - is required.All-in-all, if you'd like an occasional bed, this is fine. However, if you're looking for an everyday folding bed, you would do better to save a little bit more money and buy a different model. Perhaps one without wooden slats, and with a thicker mattress.

Amazing Value and Superb Aftercare
I have already posted a review on this bed, as I purchased it almost a year ago, for my young grandson to use when he came to stay.It remains a very comfortable bed, with the added advantage of being really easy to fold up and store without taking up much room. However, I am writing this extra review, as I have been "blown away", by the fantastic after sales service. My adult son, accidentally broke 2 of the slats, that support the mattress. The information, that comes with the bed, does advise caution with heavy weight standing, or jumping on the slats, so I was expecting to have to pay for the replacements.I was amazed to hear a polite and friendly voice on the Jay-Be number, saying that the bed had a lifetime guarantee, and she would arrange for 3 new slats (one extra in case), to be sent out by courier within 2 days....free of charge. Considering this bed is already great value, well under 100 pounds, I have never before experienced such wonderful after sales care, and I felt moved to write this.
