SOLEIL : ILLUSTRATION LOOKBOOK Tankobon Hardcover – August 8, 2023

The media could not be loaded. It really feels like an upgraded experience from Tanaka’s fashion illustration book from 2021. Immediately opening it you find a white page of textured paper that lets in some light to give the effect of summer fabric. Though I was thoroughly satisfied with the previous release’ borders and effects and felt it lacked nothing, this made me realize how Tanaka used to rely more heavily on squares/rectangles for such effects and didn’t have much else until this volume. Now there is more shapes. It having more bold colors and new looks makes it so that Tanaka’s two books compliment each other well as a set.I feel the only downside is that the bright yellow cover wrapping is partially see through so the shadows of the art on the inner book cover shows through and it makes the cover wrapping’s yellow border look sloppy.Also Amazon always coming in clutch to mess up a beautiful book with poor shipping standards like usual. There is no fixing the crunch marks, but I cleaned up the dirt scuffed into it a bit.Hoping Tanaka releases a new volume this upcoming year. 🩷

Came fast and the drawings in the books are so pretty to look at!!

The art is very beautiful and gives me so much inspiration for my art. I just wished there was more care taken in delivering the book. It arrived in a bubble mailer. When I opened it, you can see a corner of the book is a little bent and dirtied. The right side of the book is also dirtied.

The art work is beautiful. Everytime I open the book to look, I'm mesmerized. The book did come torn on the bottom left at the back, but other than that I'm actually ok with it, nothing to cry about.

Love the art style. No damage on it!

If you love anime, art , fashion or specialized style of art, this is a must purchase. 11/10
