Q: When it's cut to length can I use the rest in a different part of the same room?

You would need another transformer before you could use the rest of the strip you cut off.

Q: Can they be run off a car 12 Volt battery

Comes with its own transformer.. to plug directly into 13 amp socket…so not sure what transformer you’re wanting to connect to?
