Davy Back, Filler, Admiral Aokiji & Water 7
This ninth volume of the 'One Piece' anime contains a further twenty-four episodes (206 to 229) across four discs. The episodes in this Collection begin by finishing the G-8 filler arc before moving on to the extended Long Ring Long Land/Davy Back Fight arc and the filler Ocean's Dream arc before finishing off with the beginning of the excellent Water 7 arc.The first episode of the Collection finishes the G-8 arc with some nice humour and some very nice scenes as the Straw Hats escape from Navarone. Once this has finished we move on to the thirteen episode Long Ring Long Land/Davy Back Fight arc where Luffy and the crew are challenged to an eccentric sporting event by rival pirates. This is an arc that isn’t well liked by some fans but I personally find it to be quite enjoyable in places (the Groggy Ring event is very entertaining and the final confrontation between Luffy and Foxy is very good). The arc is mostly a comedic breather arc that has been massively extended from the events in the original manga (from just three events to six) and has some very enjoyable moments throughout and some rather interesting characters and action. The following arc is the Ocean's Dream arc, an interesting arc that sees the crew temporarily lose their memories and revert to the people they were before they met Luffy. This is an entertaining but forgettable filler arc that has some humorous moments as well as a recap on the background of the main characters. The final few episodes (after some more filler with Foxy) begin the brilliant Water 7 arc with the crew encountering one of the three powerhouses of the Navy, Marine Admiral Aokiji who has a history with Robin, before the crew move on to the city of Water 7 itself in search of repairs for the Going Merry. Water 7, and its companion arc Enies Lobby, is thought by many fans to be the best part of the entire One Piece series and I would have to agree. The arc is only just beginning here but it does introduce the city of Water 7 relatively well. The animation of the episodes in this Collection is generally reasonably good but there is a dip in quality at some points during the Long Ring Long Land/Davy Back Fight arc which is a little disappointing. The English dub is also as good as it always is with all the new characters introduced in the arcs of this Collection being relatively decent. Jason Douglas is very good as the eccentric and lazy Admiral Aokiji and the strange accent that Jonathan Brooks uses for Foxy "The Silver Fox" is seems oddly appropriate for the character. The only voice that I wasn’t much of a fan of though was Tia Ballard’s voice for Foxy’s right-hand woman Porche but this is more because I love Porche’s Japanese voice (by Sara Nakayama) so much rather than because Tia’s performance was poor. This Collection is also where FUNimation stops dubbing the opening and ending songs. For special features the Collection includes the usual clean versions of the rather spoiler filled opening and endings as well as cast commentaries. This is a very entertaining Collection of 'One Piece' episodes for one piece but there are so many great episodes to come in the next couple of arcs that I feel I can only give it a high four star rating.

Happy they Arrived and Early
I am very happy they have arrived as they wasn't suppose to get here until 3rd January. Only issue was getting message to say they was arriving today but that meant waiting in and they can deliver right up to 9pm which in one way is great but not when you dont know a time, it means staying in and not being able to get things done.

Very Disappointed the footage on my DVDs are sped up
Very disappointed to sit and watch this DVD and think that something seems off and discover the footage on these DVDs are sped up. I'm guess this is the case for all collection 9 DVDs and not just mine. so there is no point in getting myself a replacement.

Still a great series and going on strong
Still a great series and going on strong. This particular box set covered the escape from the naval base and the Davey Back Fight between the Straw Hats and the Foxy Pirates. The end of the series had the first fight between Luffy and Admiral Aokiji followed by the introduction to Water Seven and the start of a new story arc
