Remote desktop answer for windows client and ubuntu 22.04 server
I'm not the most savvy but I wanted to setup a media server. I used Ubuntu 22.04 and the native remote desktop on windows to connect to it. I tried setting up a virtual monitor from some forums and bricked my server so I had to reinstall Ubuntu. I decided why not try this, it's cheap. Remote desktop NEEDS a monitor and this thing worked perfectly - it basically thinks it's a 27" screen and has many resolution options.I now have two more in case I need them, just a great value deal.

Not as advertised
I was losing my mind for hours trying to get these to work above 640x480 on a brand new Beelink AMD Ryzen 7. This manufacturer does not work. Luckily I had another one from a different manufacturer that really is a 4K shunt.

Solve remote use without a monitor
We used these for CPU remote setup at a customer site where there was no room or need for a monitor, keyboard or mouse. These worked so well we have made it our standard for that application.

Did exactly what I needed to at an excellent price
I bought this solely to use my gaming rig headless (ie, keep my OLED monitor turned off) when I have it stream to Moonlight on my laptop. It does a superb job and automatically changes to the target resolution. It's compact, plug and play, and requires no further setup. Much simpler and more convenient than using software alternatives. A must buy if you stream your system remotely to your devices.

The solution for headless computers
This was a lifesaver for a headless linux server I set up and manage through SSH. The hardware required a monitor and this little device made it think one was connected. Recommended.
