I've had one of these for years. No issues. Bought a 2nd. Arrived with loose metal inside it. Works fine as a photocell. Doesn't turn off after 11pm. Could be down to poor quality packaging.

Read plenty of reviews on this product, took a punt regardless. As it transpires, it works fine, just needs patience. The photocell has no idea where it's been install, it doesn't have built in GPS, so the electronics take a few weeks to 'learn' dawn / dusk. Now it's learnt (3 months in my case) it lights up at dusk, switches off at midnight (I've checked numerous times), switches back on as set a few hours before dawn. Perfect. Yes, it does need a stuffing gland, yes it does need round flex cable not flat 3core cable, but it works.

Have used these products for over 10 years and were very reliable but recent replacements, which are slightly different to old units, have been rubbish with some staying on all night ignoring settings or going on/off 3 hours out from setting. Fortunately Amazon return policy means I just send them back at no cost.

Purchased this item on 11 Apr 2024 for a project that I did not get around to till March 25. Setting up instructions were easy to follow. I set the off time to midnight and the on time to 6AM. It took 5 or 6 days to adjust with the lights switching on towards dusk and stayed on until dawn however pm setting did not turn off at 12midnight but at 1:30/2:00am I fix this by pushing the off time to 10pm. It seems to work ok for now, will update later in the year.

The setting up instructions were reasonably easy to follow. I set the off time to midnight and the on time to 8AM. For the first few days after installation the lights switched on towards dusk and stayed on until dawn. Last night however they did turn off around three o'clock in the morning. I expect that the switching times will become more accurate as the days proceed and it 'learns' more. The one quibble I have is that I have not found a way of adjusting the light level at which the photocell turns on the lights as they come on when it is still quite light outside and I have made sure that the device is not obstructed. Update 2Aug2024 The timer has now learned sufficiently that it turns the lights off at about 12.30am., which is close to the off time I had set.

Read the other reviews. Comes on at early dusk, off at late dawn, doesnt turn off in between. Doesnt work / Lowenergie product support website doesnt work either.
