Complete Patio Blend, 5 lbs Bag - Wild Bird Food Seed and Nut Mix

Mostly millet
The bag I received is mostly hulled millet, with about 30% hulled sunflower chips (very small chips, very broken up), and a few pieces of the promised nuts. Local birds do not eat millet. Millet is great for doves, and even the Steller's Jays here won't eat it; chickadees, thrushes, towhee, song sparrow, juncos, etc., all dig through the millet but don't eat it. Chickadees seem to find the sunflower chips in this mix too small, or something; they pick them up and drop them. Previous mix purchased at hardware store had full-size hulled sunflowers more to their liking and a lot more peanuts. The mix is cleanly hulled and non-germinating, not much chaff, so if you have a lot of mourning doves, say, in your yard, and no rodent problems, this would be okay for scattering on the ground, as all of the doves enjoy grass seeds. I will not buy this again for my local PNW forest-predominant birds.

Expensive, but attracts all kinds of species of birds that have never taken an interest before!
Expensive. Attracts more birds than any other seed I've EVER tried. In under an hour we had mine species of birds and even a Nuttall's woodpecker, not usually attracted to these kinds if seeds. I'll be buying it again even though the birds will eat me out of house and home in an hour! (True. Three cups disappeared in less than an hour. And these do NOT germinate, a very important consideration for our small patio edges with a dirt path )

Put this bird seed in our caged feeder for the smaller birds and they love it plus I do not have to worry about this seed blend sprouting underneath the feeder.

Backyard birds love it!
It took about two weeks before the birds in my yard realized I put out a feeder, but once they found it they couldn’t get enough! I just refilled my feeder for the first time and everything was gone in about a week! I live in New England and have seen a few different types of birds at the feeder. I only recognize the sparrows though. It’s great having cute new bird friends to watch!

The birds love this seed - all gets eaten and there are no shells to discard so no mess! Im able to fill my front porch feeder with this without having to sweep every day. The only bad is that the birds enjoy it so much I'm going through a bag a month for one feeder so cost adds up.

Birds won't eat it
As advertised, this seed does not germinate or make a mess. Unfortunately the birds in my yard (central NC) have shown zero interest in it. I've even changed locations to encourage their visits. Also, it gets very hard and difficult to shake out of the feeder once wet:(

Bird Crack
This is the best "no mess" birdseed! Finches, woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches...all go crazy for it.Sadly, it is no longer available on Amazon. Please...get this back in stock. The birds will thank you.

Five Stars
It was a hit with our 4 bluebirds, cardinals, chickadees, wrens, juncos, and assorted sparrows.
