Q: How fast does this go?

Stock 53-54mph very fun truck since I bought it . Added a 15t pinion and goes 57mph

Q: Can anyone recommend batteries that fit?

Any hard case 3s or 4s with the EC5 plug should work. I used CNHL 6200mAH 4s lipo battery 100c 14.8v hard case.

Q: Does it come with a high speed pin gear

No, there is not indication on the manufacturer's website that this comes with the optional gearing. Thanks for asking.

Q: Is the kraton better then the vorteks? Looking to get one of the two.

It’s different experience, I have both and the vortek is smaller but faster and more agile. Kraton is more stunt truck and bigger wheels go over terrain.
