Object Lessons: 100 Lessons from Everyday Life

Great object lessons
I teach the older kids in our Awana program at church (8-11 year olds) and this book is full of great lessons that give them a visual to match up with the Biblical life principles. This book is older, so some of the lessons would be lost on a younger generation (a lesson about balancing a checkbook, and a few others, but only about 3-4 total fall in this category). Overall, this has greatly enhanced my weekly teaching!

Packed with great lessons about life and living a life that is pleasing to God.
I used the information in this book to form a lesson plan for teaching my youth in my church.

Not what I was looking for.
I was searching for sermons to give to kids during the Church service. Unfortunately these are not designed that way. They require too much participation and time than allowed beside even the space to act out these stories. Furthermore I wish they were listed by theme or time of the year. Will most likely return.

A good teaching resource
These lessons are geared more for adults. I was looking for material for children's sermonettes. Many can be reworked to be used with children. They are great for working with adults. Object Lessons: 100 Lessons from Everyday Life

Best Ever Object Lessons
100 Lessons from Everyday Life, by Charles C. Ryrie, is the very best collection of object lessons I've ever seen or used, and as a teacher of teachers, and Bible Club teacher for 55 yrs, I've seen a lot of them. These are lessons with objects which are readily available and known to children, and make a point without a big stretch. The author, Charles C. Ryrie, is a leading Bible scholar, as evidenced by his many books and study Bibles which are best sellers. Every teacher, especially Sunday School or Good News Club teacher, should have one, and they would serve as examples or be directly usable by any teacher.
