Great value
Great! Sometimes the pattern doesnt line up perfectly, so you might need to mix and match within the pack. We used small pins to adhere onto wall. No smell, great quality.

Actualization (Defective)
4 of the bass trap didn’t expand. Also they look different I have to clarify that the bass trap that expanded met my expectations. In fact I placed another order and when I unpacked them they all expanded well. I am pleased with the service and attention received.

Decent design and seems to perform as advertised.
If your intention is to use this product as corner-wall-ceiling bass trap, I would not recommend this product as it does not measure out to 8 inches. For the advertised product (i.e. Periodic bass trap), I guess this does the general job when placed between just a location between wall and ceiling, or a corner of just two walls meeting together. For corner traps, I highly recommend the 12"x12"x8" bass traps and use these where needed between two-points only. I have made an investment in this material and several other products that will work in concert. I have roughly a 600 SqFt sound recording studio I am preparing and chose this product for the main area to stop sound and frequency from bouncing off the wood-panel walls. I plan to use these traps in several locations. Another issue I have with the product is about 20% of the tiles that I ordered in packs of 12, are not all decompressing and take a lot of work to form into their final shape. Several tiles never have fully decompressed, no matter what I do (i.e. submerging in water, blow dryer, etc.). It almost appears if several of the tiles were smashed when compressed into their packaging. I am not a fan of submerging the product into water. If any water remains in the material air pockets, over time mildew will form and would be accompanied by smell. I have tried the water submersion and dryer technique, but caution anyone considering this approach and to not use high or mid heat, if using a clothes dryer.

Decent budget buy bass traps
These base traps do work and they make a difference. I’m an audio recording student and ever since I put in the base traps and the acoustic squares. My recordings have gotten 100 times better.

Low quality
Bought one set of periodic and one set of internal corner traps for echo reduction in a theater room. Foam is very low density and arrived compressed. Not uniform whatsoever and not effective. Unable to recommend these.

Great, but hard to find a way to keep them in place
These do what they’re intended to do. I haven’t used a noise meter, but they work to keep bass out of the corners. As with all foam, the only struggle is finding a glue that will keep these permanently adhered. I’ve tried 3M and Gorilla Glue spray glue and neither indefinitely holds. No fault of these guys - just the nature of it.
