Will this grow light turn on automatically every day?

Dear customer, Yes, Our plant halo light have three timing function mode: 8/12/16 hours, you can set it up once and it will turn on/off automatically every day. Note: If you shut down the power ever, please reset the timer.

Could I use this to bring in my container grown lettuce in the winter?

Yes ! But only if the container is less than a 10 inch diameter. That's about as far as the light will reach. It's a small light that can't be raised more than about 8-10 inches above the soil

Is the plug safe? Mine gets extremely hot on both lights. I can't even touch it...

I checked mine and it's cool to the touch after being plugged in for 12 hours. Maybe contact customer service. They are really great!
