Great book
This is a great book and I'm not just saying that because I'm a Edyta Sitar fan girl.WARNING: If you have purchased a lot of Edyta's quilt patterns, you may find that this book duplicates a lot of them (I've listed many of them below). If you don't have the patterns and would like them then this book is for you because if you purchased the patterns individually they would be $10 each.As with many of Edyta's books, the first 37 pages include the introduction and a gallery of antique quilts for inspiration and then the instructions for 16 projects follow (mostly large quilts). As you can imagine from the book's title, the quilts are all made in blue and white. I have to agree with Edyta that looking at blue and white quilts is calming...I felt that as I was reading the book (yes I read quilt books...not just look at the pictures).Projects include First Flakes (88.5" square), Blue Barns (64.5" x 82"), Sugar Pine (60.5" x 68"), Blue Bells (63.5" x 78.5"), Journey (59" x 68"), Thousand Oakes (60.5" x 70.5"), Shining Star (58.5" square), Simmering Snow (76.5" square), Frost (79.75" x 91"), Shining Star Table Topper (24.5" square), Blue Spruce 73.75" x 93.5"), Gingerbread Men (24.5" square), Sleigh Trails (52.5" square), Gift Baskets (56.5" x 64.5"), Sleigh Bells Duo (44.5" x 15.5"), and Aurora (56.75 "x 73.625").

Only for advanced quilters
I love blue and looked forward to making some quilts from the patterns in the book. However, the first 1/4 - 1/3 of the book is pictures of antique quilts, with no patterns to use to reproduce these quilts. The rest of the book has many patterns for those who have lots of time and patience. The patterns are filled with little half square triangles -- finished size as small as 1.5 inches. I love to quilt but any of these quilts would take months to complete, given I have other activities I like to do. If you are a full-time quilter, or enjoy cutting tiny pieces of fabric and sewing them together, making literally hundreds of HSTs for each quilt, you will enjoy these quilts. However, I prefer to make less complicated quilts I can finish quickly so I can make more quilts.

Beautiful.
I especially enjoyed all the vintage quilts shown throughout the book as inspiration - makes me jealous as I have no one in my family to have passed on anything. Edyta is a quilter that I have followed since the beginning and she has grown into an awe-inspiring quilter. The quilts in this book are amazing and since the applique is not needle-turned, it is doable by most mid range and up quilters. Go for it ladies!!! (And you men too).

Edyta is a treasure!
This book did not disappoint. I almost never buy anything but ebooks anymore, but I make exceptions for Edyta's books. They never fail to inspire me and teach me a little something about piecing. It's nearly as good as an in-person class with her. She has videos on YouTube (search for Edyta Sitar) and watch her make some of these blocks. She gives great hints and tips. Plus, in buying this book, you will not only be inspired and learn, you'll have the satisfaction of supporting a truly nice person who deserves the success her creativity and hard work have brought her. Now, to figure out which of these quilts I need to make!

Amazing Quilts! Art Inspiration!
This is a beautiful book of inspiration! The quilts are unique and eye catching. I may not make them, but this is a beautiful picture book. Blue is my favorite color. Until seeing these photos, I would not think of using some of the appliqués the they used. You could make these quilts in your favorite color if blue is not your color. Amazing quilts to create and to admire!

beautiful book
Loved discovering the classic combination of blue and white in a collection of breathtaking quilts in this book. Edyta shares dozens of antique blue-and-white quilts in a gallery of inspiring photos; then follows with patterns for 17 breathtaking two-color quilt designs. I took my copy of this beautiful book to my guild meeting and the ladies loved it, too.
