Epson Expression Home XP-5200 Wireless Color All-in-One Inkjet Printer

The majority of printers I have purchased over the years has been Epson. This one is even better than the last because the quality is still there along with the ease of installation and operation and the updated design. The only drawback is the cost of ink cartridges, but that is offset by the finished product. Hooks up extremely easily and I recommend.

First of all I am a repeat customer of Epson printers, my last one was 12 years old, XP-430, time for a new one. This came highly recommended and was priced good enough for my budget. Pros: Easy to set up. It took 10 minutes from unboxing to printing. All functions work great and its easy to save to computer, or iCloud, etc. Powers up quickly. Bottom front load paper tray (LOVE THIS). Compact design. Bluetooth connection, easy to set up and connect to wifi. Cons: Extremely loud while printing. I placed it in 3 solid places, exactly the same level of noise each time. Ink runs out way to fast and is expensive to replace even for generic brands (hard to find) Black ink is base and I hardly printed anything and was notified ink was out! I trusted the reviews but never saw one that commented on noise or ink levels. It is still a great product but do your homework before purchasing if you require heavy printing or a quiet device. RE-REVIEW after a month: Started out great, untl I changed the ink, which is ridiculous. The ink tanks are expensive and run out after MINIMAL pages or printing. After installing the new cartridges, the quality was awful. I followed the prompts to clean the heads, reprint, power clean, useless. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRINTER!!!!!

Easy to set up and worked right away

Takes the user through step by step connecting to the network. Easily installed driver on my Linux laptop top running Mint. It is very noisy when printing. Not true double sided printing. It just pauses while the user turns the page over and then click OK the print on the other side.

Delivery was fine, set up was relatively straightforward. Especially since I needed a printer that still had drivers available for an older Mac, using OSx10.13.6. Lot of reviews state the print quality is lacking. I wouldn't say its bad, about what you would expect for a printer in it's price range. That's where anything redeeming about this printer ends. Save your money, this thing is an INK HOG. All the ink cartridges that came with it, lasted no time. I might have gotten 20-25 color pages and maybe 35 black only pages. These were not heavy coverage by any stretch of imagination. I figured maybe they provide lower volume cartridges with a printer purchase. Boy, was I wrong! I've since purchased 2 sets on Epson ink 222, and the usage is still about the same. Epson claims their standard branded cartridges should yield 200 pages of black only. I'm experiencing slightly more than 10% of that. The Epson standard color cartridges claim 250 pages of color. Again, experiencing slightly above 10% of that. While I realize these numbers are not absolute and aren't really to be expected, you should be able to expect more than this. I also have an older Epson WF 7540, about 15 years old. I probably get 4 or more times from this printer. It seems like Epson has made the decision to sell printers cheap and make their profit in ink. No wonder there are so many available knock off brands. I don't think I'll ever purchase another Epson product or ink cartridge based on this purchase. However, I'm not sure if this problem is due to the printer itself (which I think it is), or a conscious decision to seel lots of ink? To be fair, Epson should consider giving this away and just require you must purchase Epson brand inks only. Not sure if I would still come out better.

It started off good. I had issues with replacing the ink and it would not accept the replacement cartridges. After multiple times it's time to trash this brand and model.

Seems to work as for what I needed it for. Connects easily to wifi, printer was easy to set up with step by step instructions, I’ve printed a few different things with it so far one being business cards with the Avery business cards and worked exactly as I wanted. Picture prints are not professional quality but it’s not as bad as I thought, they are clear prints. Overall for what I’ve printed so far seems to be a good printer

Es una muy mala compra, aunque la impresora es buena, no duran la tintas y no hay tintas en el mercado. EL cartucho de repuesto es muy caro y aun asi no hay en el mercado para su compra. Esa parte no se especifica en ninguna parte, no se deberia permitir la venta de estos productos, porque cuando la tinta se acaba, ya se vencio el tiempo para devolucion de la compra. Es un producto obsoleto

printer works well, easy to set up, connnects through wi-fi to the various computers/phones tablets in the house to print. love that it prints on both sides of the paper on it's own. it does go through ink fairly quickly. if you know you're going to be printing fairly frequently, it might be cost efficient to buy a printer with large capacity ink tanks vs one like this using smaller cartridges. For our needs where I'm printing the odd photo, recipe etc this works well.
