Amazon Basics Iron 18mg, Supports Red Blood Cell Production, Vegan, 195 Capsules, 6 Month Supply (Previously Amazon Elements)

Excellent iron supplement that does not upset your stomach and almost instantly raised my iron levels. These soft capsules are very easy to swallow too. I have struggled with iron supplements that have always “backed me up” if you catch my drift, or just upset my stomach. Then I found I couldn’t donate blood anymore. The last few times I tried to donate I was way too low. Taking this really helped and gives me more energy as well! Reasonably priced and vegan.

This ensures that my body has an ample supply of iron to replenish the blood lost during donation, minimizing the risk of iron deficiency and its associated symptoms. What sets these capsules apart is their vegan formulation, making them suitable for individuals with dietary restrictions or preferences. Free from animal-derived ingredients, artificial colors, and unnecessary additives, Amazon Elements Iron Capsules offer a clean and transparent supplement option that aligns with ethical and health-conscious lifestyles. In addition to their vegan-friendly composition, these capsules boast exceptional bioavailability, ensuring that the iron is readily absorbed and utilized by the body. This means that I can experience the benefits of supplementation without worrying about ineffective absorption or digestive discomfort commonly associated with iron supplements. One of the most significant advantages of incorporating Amazon Elements Iron 18mg Capsules into my routine is the positive impact they've had on my blood donation journey. I love these supplements. They aren't hard on the stomach and since they are a lower dose than most iron supplements I can take them daily.

I like that these are vegan and help me (a vegetarian) counteract my mild iron deficiency. These have helped me have more energy and keep from getting dizzy when I stand up (which still happens sometimes, but much less often since I started taking these every day). It's worth noting that these taste absolutely awful. I cannot take these with plain water because the taste is horrible, so I usually take them at breakfast with my coffee or some chocolate milk. I'm okay with this, but I think that's what makes these a 4 star product and not a 5 star product. I would also like it if they had some B12 in here, that's the other vitamin I struggle to get sometimes. But it seems they only sell it in ridiculously huge quantities. I don't need %5,000 of my daily value, thank you. I need like, %75. I can get the rest from fortified cereals and flours and such. Anyway, yes these do work. I would recommend them for anyone who's vegetarian or vegan or who just doesn't get enough iron.

I was diagnosed with anemia after a major shoulder surgery several years ago when I was at the ER for a blood clot. I followed up with a hematologist and was ultimately given iron infusions to bring up my iron levels. I've since been instructed to take iron 2x weekly and get regular blood work to verify the levels. I purchased this iron supplement and it has helped bring my iron levels into the normal range and keep them there. It doesn't happen overnight, as even infusions take a bit of time to raise levels and they are a more aggressive therapy. However, these iron caps will bring up iron also, it just takes a couple months for it to reflect in blood work. Overall, I recommend this iron supplement. It does not irritate my stomach (I've been told that some iron supplements can cause stomach upset). It has maintained my iron levels in the middle of the reference range as verified by regular blood work. This product is priced really reasonably and does what it's supposed to do. Having verifiable results from lab testing gives me confidence that this actually delivers.

Ended up not working for what I intended but did make my fingernails weirdly strong

Not the best taste, but definitely works for what I need it for.

I like these vitamins, they don’t irritate my stomach.
