Can you leave an image projected for an hour or so without damaging the projector?

As far as I know, yes. LCDs don't suffer 'ion burn' as to old CRT TV systems.

Is this Projector good for Artists?

How do you plan to use it?. It is a good projector. Could could put white cardboard on an easel and display on that.

Can I project a photo from my computer onto a large canvas to trace? If so is it clear?

I use a 60 inch screen to do a slid presentation and it works fine for that. Don’t know what size a large canvas is, put will probably work.

I have an epson ex3220 right now that needs replaced. Would this be a good replacement that is comparable?

The video is great, but there is no way to hook up external speaks, and the volume level is terrible. I don't recommend it
