Everything is really good on this smart watch except for battery life which is woeful
I've updated the review underneath the original review as the battery life issue appears to have resolved itself.Original review:I’ve had this watch for almost a week. It has a really nice build quality, the health monitoring all works well and is very configurable and the GPS locks very fast. The app is a tad confusing and complex at first but I soon got used to it. The watch faces are great. There are loads of them, many of them you have to pay for, but there are still several dozen free faces. The free faces have a great variety too and all look quality including sporty, futuristic, traditional and animated and most have detailed health or watch status information embedded in the face. Now, for me at least, there is one major flaw, but probably the only flaw of this watch. Battery life is woeful. I’m getting 4 days from 100 to 0. For this 4 days I’ve disabled health monitoring, the display, reduced notifications to 10 apps and left bluetooth enabled. Drains even faster if I enable anything more. Battery drain is fast at around 1% per hour. I then disabled bluetooth and then dramatically the battery drain slowed to a snails pace - I went 7 hours on the same percentage, no drop in battery. However to achieve this I basically had to stop using the watch for anything useful other than read the time when I pressed the side button. Four days might not seem too bad but the manufacturer says up to 14 days. My previous watch was a Oneplus watch and I could get 10 days with lift to display, notifications on, bluetooth on 24/7 and some occasional daily health monitoring. I’m going to see how it goes after a full charge from 0 to 100 but I may be returning this watch as poor battery life is a deal breaker. I’m not nursing a watch with terrible battery life.Update 31/10/22:After draining the battery down to zero and recharging the battery life now seems to be excellent. It's draining at around 3-4% per day with the same watch enabled features as I described previously: raise to wake, bluetooth on all the time, notifications on with 10 apps. Not sure what happened previously with the battery drain but perhaps the watch was in some weird state when connected to the phone or perhaps the battery needed to be trained (drain to zero and recharge to full). So I've increased the score to 5/5 as otherwise the watch really is very nice and full of features. The only niggle at the moment is the music player - it's a little flaky. On the train using the watch to control my music player on the phone it eventually stopped working and would not reconnect to my phone music player without restarting the watch. And it also for some reason started playing music out loud on the watch itself on the train whilst I had my earbuds in. So everyone on the train was listening to my watch play music (pre-installed on the watch) until I noticed. I was going to dock a review point but it's a minor quibble and hopefully solved with a future software update. I'd also like them to give the option of which music player to default to as the watch always defaults to the watch music not the phone music. I'll update this review if I notice any other issues.

Primarily a fitness app what also tells the time.
I love my GT4 Amazfit watch. Let's be honest first, it's a fitness App disguised as a watch. But, it is very, very good. The screen is large, bright and very clear. It has lots to offer and endless ways to change the menus to suit you needs and desires. I love it.It fits to you wrist very well, it isn't bulky nor heavy. You can answer a call or read a WhatsApp or normal message from your watch there are limitations in returning a call and a message but overall the functionality is perfect what most people need of it. When talking on a phone call via the watch, the call is clear and crisp and everyone in the conversation has no problem hearing. The battery life is simply astounding, having been to the gym four times and had it on constantly for four days, a 100% charged battery only dropped to 37% and recharge is very quick. The only negative thing I can find after owning this watch now for two months is the user manual that came with the watch. It is poor and doesn't really provide any suitable guidance. I have learned how to use to watch through trial and error which has been a joy. Very pleased with my purchase.

Excellent so far
Only had it a few days but this is a massive improvement on the 2 previous 50 quid watches I had to return. Definitely worth the extra. Great screen, battery life seems good. Can't really fault it. Some people moan about having to pay for extra watch faces. You don't have to pay for all of them, some are free. If it goes wrong I'll be updating this review but so far, really impressed.Update, had it over a year now. Charge it every 12 -14 days. Really can't fault it. Don't know if they're still available but would definitely recommend.

Brilliant battery life
In my humble opinion Amazfit make some excellent smart watches & the GTR 4 is no exception. Battery life is excellent I'm looking at 14 days before I need to recharge since purchasing. I don't want a device that I have to charge every 2 days.Just be aware that this isn't a wear os watch but that doesn't bother me. The notifications one gets on the watch are perfect for me, the fitness features are on a par with Apple, Pixel or Galaxy watches. An added benefit with my purchase was I bought from Amazon Warehouse described as, As New & I can't see one mark on it & was £50 off the full price.I would recommend the GTR 4 to anyone wanting a smartwatch/fitness tracker with excellent battery life.

There are doing something right 👍🏾
I'm writing this review coming from having WearOS watches. This is my 3rd Amazfit watch over the last few years & each one is as good as the last. This one adds a better tile layout & the ability to respond to messages through pre written response which is great as you can add your own responses. Battery life is good as can get a about a week with always on display. Case & screen can get scratched which is downside as not made out of the strongest material, but overall I'm really pleased & highly recommend it
