Final Offer: the Sunday Times bestselling second chance romance - Meet the new Dreamland billionaire... : Asher, Lauren: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Cal Kane is the BEST 😍 - So I read this book 2 weeks ago and initially after reading I gave it 3 stars. At times I thought Alana was totally insufferable and so many elements of the plot dragged on wayyyyyy too much. If I was editing this book I easily could have cut down 150 pages of nonsense that didn’t need to be there. Also the way the whole town was reacting to Cal was just ridiculous, incredibly immature and not believable? It was so far fetched and forced to me that I cringed every time I had to read that part of the storyline. HAVING SAID THAT It’s been two weeks and I cannot get this book and Callahan Kane out of my head! So I figure that has to be a good thing, right? Cal easily makes it in to my top 5 book boyfriend list of all time! I was rooting for him so much that actually, I thought he deserved better than Alanna and that town. And don’t get me started on her friends. Her friends and the town actively complained about him being an alcoholic and pathetic yet their actions pushed him towards the drink even more. Make it make sense. Then all of a sudden once he got sober and made Alanna happy again all was good and they were nice to him? Hell no, I would not be forgetting how they treated me in my darkest hour. Cal was a beautiful, tortured soul and he deserved better from everyone in that book. The only person who truly treated him like a human being was Cami. Their relationship was so adorable. And I did love how alcoholism was portrayed through Carl’s character it was really a great read. So as much as I didn’t like elements of this book I can’t bring myself to give it anything less than 5 stars because any book that gets me this deep in my thoughts and has me hung up on it weeks later deserves it! Review: Perfect ending - I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did. Best one of the series for me. Perfect for anyone that just wants to enjoy a dreamy romance. The entire series is perfect for those of us that like to dream a little of a billionaires romance without serious emotional turmoil. A great happy place to escape away for a little is how my time with the dreamland billionaires felt.

Dreamland Series has me in a chokehold
Cal, a struggling alcoholic and the last of the Kane brothers to address his grandfather's will, faces a challenging task: spending the summer at his grandfather's house in Lake Wisteria before selling it. However, upon his return to Lake Wisteria after six years, Cal is astonished to find Lana, his childhood best friend and former love, living in the house with her daughter. Their reunion jeopardizes Cal's chances of inheritance, as Lana, still harbouring resentment for Cal breaking her heart, co-owns the house and has no intentions of selling. "Final Offer" unfolds as a new adult romance, blending tropes like forced proximity, second chance romance, enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, and single parenthood. The novel is the third and final instalment in Lauren Asher's Dreamland Billionaires trilogy and by far my favourite of the three. New readers need to begin with the first book, "The Fine Print," to avoid spoilers. The story explores themes such as loneliness, family, wealth, love, heartbreak, mental health, and addiction. Trigger warnings include absentee parents, alcoholism and addiction, and the death of a family member (before the story). Cal, portrayed as swoon-worthy and compassionate, reveals his commitment as a cat dad and establishes a heartwarming connection with Lana's daughter, Cami. Their connection is so emotional and raw, that catching the lump of tears in the back of my throat was worthy of an Oscar. The narrative explores Cal's journey of using books as a healthier coping mechanism for his mental health struggles. The highlight of "Final Offer" is the enchanting trip to Dreamland, the Kane family's theme park, featuring a princess makeover and fireworks. The incorporation of comedic elements, such as Cal volunteering for an embarrassing costume at the Strawberry Festival, adds a delightful touch. The continued presence of the other Kane brothers and their partners contributes to the story's charm. The ending, both for this instalment and the series, is deemed fitting without revealing any spoilers. It is by far my most emotional read of 2024. In conclusion, "Final Offer" offers an enjoyable experience, especially recommended for contemporary romance enthusiasts who appreciate second-chance romances.

Fav of the series
I love Cal. He has been my favourite of the brothers throughout the series. Don’t get me wrong, I do love a grumpy man but Cal and his sarcastic comments will always be better. This book was a lot more serious at points than the others. Addiction is not just a passing comment but a constant. I really like how it was discussed and handled especially in Cal’s POVs. Lana is great too, she did annoy me sometimes but I would have probably done the same thing in most cases except when it comes to her sister but that is a minor part of the book. Cami is amazing and probably the best character. She is adorable and great at hustling. I love the ending, not just for Cal and Lana but how the series was wrapped up for everyone.

It’s an ok book
I read other books by this author and this one is so so, probably the least favourite from the series. Light read, won’t stay with me.

Heartfelt second-chance romance
Cal & Lana. Final instalment of the series is a second chance, very sweet, slow-burn romantic story. It’s not all rainbows and butterflies since we get a close-up view of Cal’s addiction for a big part of the book. I could feel his struggle and connect with him. Everything felt so real that I just wanted to give him a hug and support him. He is definitely my favourite of the brothers. Lana is a cool FMC, I really liked her. Strong, loving, supportive. They made a great couple and I loved all those details that connected them. Even though it didn’t feel dragging, I believe it should have been shorter. -Dual 1st person POV -Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5 Overall: 4.55/5 ⭐️ for me.
