All parts in the photo are NOT included!
The photos of this item are a misrepresentation of this product. Beware that you WILL NOT receive what is shown in the photos. The kit does not come with the side pods or the front and rear flaps as indicated in the photos. Purchasing these items separately will add another $50 or so. I purchased this kit because I needed everything in the photos and only got the turbine parts, new shoes and side flaps. I would not have purchased if I had known all the parts were not included.

Very impressed! Directions with diagrams where very easy to read, easy installation.
I was very impressed when opening the Hayward kit. Very organized, everything neatly in place. The instructions where step by step numbered and clearly written with easy diagrams to visualize removal of old parts and replace with new parts. The package with instructions were very useful to a pool maintenance beginner and a professional. Anyone can do it. The the instructions were very very thorough ... I didn't even have any leftover parts or screws at the end of the job. Yes, I would recommend buying this kit with it's original Hayward parts. Performance after placing unit in the pool was amazing. Just as actively cleaning and moving around the pool as when I first bought the Hayward Pool Cleaner new. A special kudo and thanks to those designing the kit and preparing the very helpful instructions. Well worth the price and ease of maintaining your Hayward unit.Jeremy Mueller

Less Parts, More Problems
I have had this product for over a year now, so I have given it more than enough time to "work." I was excited to replace the ball bearings of the original design with this version. I figured it would have to work better as there were less parts and, in my experience, simpler is better. Boy was I wrong. While the original design had to be changed out more often, this one just doesn't work, so the parts never wear down! So, for 10-12 months I have gone out and occasionally find it working, but mostly it just sits at the bottom of the pool. If I stick my fingers in and encourage it to spin I can sometimes get it working for the few minutes I stand out there. But, the number of times I came out to find it working on its own were few and far between. Even my pool guy took it to the shop with him once. He said the same thing that I concluded, all parts were in good working condition, it just won't go. So, a couple weeks ago I finally took it all apart (again!) and really examined it. Here is what I concluded. If any dirt, and I mean ANY, get stuck in the bushing area the entire thing freezes up. We have a lot of sand around here, and that is what I found in the bearings. Not the whole sand box, just a couple grains of sand. This was enough to just turn the whole contraption into an anchor. I cleaned every piece off and put it back together. It was spotless. I put the thing back into the pool and it worked fabulous. I moved it over to the "dirty" area of the pool and within minutes it went back to simulating an anchor. I took the whole thing apart again and what do I find. No joke, one grain of sand. I clean it off, put it back in, and off it goes. I was so fed up I walked away. Now I am looking at my dirty pool (storm last night), annoyed, because the pool guy doesn't come for a couple days, but I can't let it sit like this until then. I will need to make a change. I hire others and buy these contraptions for ease of mind, but I am not happy.

Missing spring behind right foot pad. Otherwise good
Seems to work fine. Pool cleaner is zipping through pool again. Spring was missing behind right rear foot pad. Had to salvage a spring from my old foot pad.

A Good Upgrade to a Good Product - You May Not Need the "Plus" Version
I purchased a new Navigator Pro and the V-Flex Upgrade Plus kit because the Navigator Pro V-Flex wasn't available. I've used similar models of Hayward Poolvacs for 25 years and have found them reliable, effective and a good value. My new unit is working well and the V-Flex option appears to be helping with clogging problems - I have a pool that gets a lot of debris so I still have some clogging. From the online descriptions I wasn't sure of the difference between the basic and the Plus versions. The V-Flex Upgrade Plus kit has the improved turbine and associated parts as well as everything you need to rebuild the lower motion unit of the poolvac. In my instance I didn't need those parts with my new Navigator Pro and the standard V-Flex upgrade would have sufficed. However the basic model is priced $65 more than the Plus version on Amazon (Sep 2017) so I paid less and have 3 years worth of maintenance parts.

Great alternative to replacing the entire vacuum
Installed this kit on my vacuum and it works like a champ now. Twigs do still get caught on the bottom but thats a normal issue for any pool vacuum.
