It was perfect, just the book I was looking for to give to my 7 year old niece. All she talks about is becoming a Veterinarian. Other books seemed like they would be for a much older child.Thank you,Linda

A Great Educational Experience for Children about Veterinarians and Animals!
As Sofia is watching the rain come down she sees a cat. Even though the cat is wet she sees something special in her. No matter what though, her mom always says “no” when she talks about wanting a pet. Sofia watches and waits for the cat to come back. It’s looking like the cat won’t be back until she finally shows up again. Sofia does something kind of naughty in her mother’s eyes…she feeds her. Her mom is worried that the cat will keep coming back and guess what? She does. Her mom decides to turn this situation into a learning experience for Sofia, by telling her what she would need to do to take care of a cat, and plans to let her take care of her. The cat is looking sick so they decide to take her to the veterinarian and receive a big learning experience from her.I liked that this book teaches children about veterinarians, such as what they do, and what kind of education they often go through to become veterinarians. I really liked how at different points the story kind of stopped and something was explained from the story, such as it explained about different kinds of veterinarians, some different types of animals, and what some of the purposes of animals are. If I were reading this book to a child, I would probably leave out the part about cats being worshipped as gods to early Egyptians that is taught in this book. There were two sections that seemed kind of interesting to me in the back of the book about “What will help make me a great veterinarian?”, and “Be a Responsible Pet Owner”.In my opinion, a great educational experience for children about veterinarians and animals! My rating = 4.5 out of 5 starsDisclosure of Material Connection: The publisher has provided me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wonderful Read
In this delightful learning story we meet, Sofia. Sofia longs to have a pet of her own, but Mom knowing how much responsibility they are, is reluctant to allow her to. However things are about to change when they are visited by a homeless hungry cat, who is carrying more than they expected.First off, this book brings front and center the reluctance that parents have to allow a pet in their home, and it deals with this issue very well. Moving along in the read, the story shows how the family worked together for the happiness of a stray animal and the family in general. I was very impressed with this part of the story where the cat is taken to the Vet. Not only did this show compassion for a stray animal, but you will be surprised at the knowledge you will learn about Veterinarians. I was amazed at the different callings Vets can walk in. I found this information excellent. So, this book does several things One, it is a great family story, showing how they can work together to bring happiness to each other, and how important being responsible is. It is also a story that shows kindness to lost animals, and I liked it. On top of all that it gives you knowledge about Vets that I'm sure most of us never realized. I loved this section of the read. You are also going to be impressed with the illustrations and pictures that help to bring to life the words you are reading. This is one whooper of a learning book, that is so enjoyable in the story line, perhaps at first, you will not realize how much you learned until you are finished. Very highly recommended, excellent read.. Well worth your consideration. I received a copy of this book for a honest review.

Aspiring Children Veterinarians
I must say I really love this series. I think it is one of the best ones out there for children to get a true understanding of what jobs are out there for them. I know my daughter gets very excited each time she reads one of these books. She gets to learn about a new career option. This particular story, about the veterinarian, was top of her list, as that is one of her options for when she grows up.The cover along grabbed both of our attention. It is amazingly filled with bright attention grabbing colours. When you open the book, it has a list of saying from famous people regarding animals and how wonderful they are to have around. Next you find the Veterinarian Oath. This was nice to be able to read to my daughter and tell her that it will be something that she will have to uphold. The story is a touching one. It shows how much love this young girl has for animals and how badly she wants to have one around. Even though most of the book is in cartoon form, there are pictures of actual people and animals. These sections give children a deeper understanding of what a Veterinarian does. Your children will also receive a deeper knowledge of cats, dogs, birds and reptiles. This book is filled with so much information that by time you are done ready the story, they will have a better understanding and know if this is the career for them or not. There is also two pages at the end that are dedicated to what makes and good veterinarian and pet owner.
