Great tires but heavy and slow
I have become a fan of Continental tires after using Gatorskin Hardshells on my road bike with great success. I was looking for tires to replace the OEM on my Jamis Renegade Exploit adventure bike. The OEM Clement X Plor MSO 700 x 36c tires are great tires, but they were wearing pretty quickly riding on pavement, so I was looking for something more durable. The Continentals were not particularly hard to install, but if you have tubeless ready rims like mine it takes some muscle to get the last bit seated. The tires are very quiet and handle well. I have not detected any squirming when going through hard corners. The downside is that the tires are heavy (800g for the 700x37c) and relatively slow. I lost 1 mph in the switch. However, I recognize the tires are made for touring/commuting and not racing. Also, the reflective sidewall looks like the whitewall's on Grandma's Buick, but, if they keep me from getting hit by a car, I don't care what they look like. Finally, the 700x37c was substantially narrower than the 700x36c tires they replaced. I would have given the tires five stars if they were lighter and faster.

Great set of tires; 1500 miles and going strong
Great tire for the money! I'm on my first set after reading numerous reviews and have about 1500 miles on them after 16 weeks and the front tire looks like it has another 1000 miles or more of life. That said the back tire is starting to look a bit worn (tire tread is just about worn down) and has maybe 200-300 miles to go before I need to replace.I'm running these on a mountain bike that I use when I ride in an urban to semi-urban/rural setting. I'd been running mountain tires on this particular bike for years but made the jump to road tires and haven't looked back. This tire is more than capable of going off-road - though I imagine traction would be an issue if muddy or slippery __off-road__ situations. On the road it grips excellent.I did get one 'flat' caused by a thorn, but the tube held and it was basically a slow leak type of issue (hence putting the world flat in quotes).I do agree that this tire is a bit difficult to mount (at least on my 26 inch rim).I'll also agree that shipping the 2 tires I ordered in 2 separate boxes seemed very wasteful on Amazon's part. A single box would have worked.

hmmm
It's a tiny little bike tire, why does it cost as much as a relatively huge tire for my car (at the time of my purchase $50!)? Tire is of excellent quality. Need better photos of the tire on the web site. Feels good, very expensive.ADDED 10/2013... After riding on them for 750 miles, I can add that the tires are very comfortable, almost too soft. The sidewalls have a lot of flexion in turns; it's a little bit unnerving like the bike is sliding out from under me. I've gotten used to it (mostly anyway) and just force myself to realize I'm not falling it's only the sidewall flexing. I inflate them to the highest recommended pressure on the sidewall. It is good to see lots of excellent photos of the tire and tread now, those were not yet posted when I purchased. Also good to see the price has dropped considerably. I would buy them again.I cannot address the tires flat resistance, I rarely have had a flat in the past and this tire is no different.

Dependable, Durable, and Trouble Free
The 700 x 32 tire was the stock rear tire on a new bike I bought in April 2013. Today (August 10, 2016) I had the first flat, a small wire piece had pierced the sidewall, this after 2900 miles on the tire, including a 1496 mile solo, unsupported bike ride around Lake Superior in the fall of 2013. I also replaced the tire, as the rubber tread was worn off parts of the tire and the underlying cord was showing. My bike is a touring bike and frequently carries loads up to about 50 lbs, plus my 155 lb body weight. I inflate the tire to 80 psi. I have no complaints about the tire. In fact, based on the excellent performance I had purchased a spare tire to have on hand. Replacement was easy, both on removal and of the old and installing the new. The bike is now ready for a 700 mile camping tour in NW Minnesota this September which I excitedly look forward to.

Great tires. So far.
I usually ride the trekking type offerings by schwalbe but after using continental tire on my mtn bike and liking them I thought I'd try these on my Surly LHT. To get straight to the point, these are great riding tires. Great tires (47mm) for the 700c Long Haul Trucker. Pleasantly round and nicely plump, in 47mm these provide plenty of cushion at minimum pressure. In concert with a spring Brooks B67 even the worst the terrible road in my town possess smooth out greatly. They roll plenty fast and grab at the pavement though fast cornering. I've not ridden any fire road or single track with them yet but I assume on dry track one could have some fun provided they pick their line well. Mounting them on a Velocity dyad front and a chukker rear was tool free. The price was significantly less than I was paying for the schwalbes. Using with fenders will require I mod the fenders a bit. Will update.

Great tire! Poor sizing.
Let me start by saying that I LOVE these tires but their sizing is WRONG. They are marked as 37 with but I used a digital caliper and they are 32.3 mm wide when mounted and inflated to 60 psi! My 33 width OEM tires are 32.4 mm for comparison. Thankfully one of the previous reviewers mentioned this so I went with the wider tire instead of the 32 width, otherwise I would have been very disappointed. My rims are pretty narrow so this may have affected the size some but not that much.I had little trouble mounting these on my Specialized Crux OEM rims, though they are a little tighter than the OEM tires. The tire is relatively stiff and "feels" like it would be quite durable. The traction seems good even on wet grass, which I had not expected. Rolling resistance feels like it decreased from my OEM tires. Reflective strip is welcome.

Over the top packaging.
Excessive packaging, will not order this way again. The tyre is fine.

Preis / Leistung -> Top
