Great poe switch with loads of power
Unit works great, purchased 3 of these for a big mega pixel camera job I was doing. For the price, you won't find another poe switch with the same total wattage budget, along with ALL 8 ports able to supply power. Keep that in mind when you run poe cameras, as most use between 8 and 11 watts each. Only complaint really is how often the prices change on these, bought them not long ago for 145/ea.Unit is relatively quiet, and stays cool under load of all ports being used and at 1gb speed each. Well built, sturdy metal case. Also, you can run a cat5 or 6 cable up to 330 ft on poe cameras, I have seen a lot of questions regarding distance. This unit will pump out the power no problem. Will use again for my next poe jobs for sure.

Fast, inexpensive, powerful, and reliable
I purchased the unmanaged, POE+ version of this switch, and it's fantastic. All of my webcams booted and ran flawlessly, as did two PCs attached to it. I still have two more ports available to add more webcams, and with 124W on tap, I highly doubt I'll be facing any problems. All of the LED indicators are logically laid out, and the unit also automatically provided POE power to my POE devices, without any configs necessary as one would imagine. Excellent device for the money.

Great switch - loud internal fan
I like the features and functionality of this switch. It is very simple to install, but it is not a good fit for people who are very sensitive to fan noise. No doubt about it, the internal fan is loud. I got 2 of the POE+ switches to run POE security cameras - one for the basement and one for the garage, so the fan noise is not an issue for me, but I would not install this unit in my living room for the home theater set-up.

Solid switch!
No issues at all! Like my 5-port TP-Link switch, this one is similarly well built, compact, and performs flawlessly so far. I had considered a managed PoE switch, but really had no immediate use for PoE at this time. And even if I do need that in the future, these switches are inexpensive enough that I can use it elsewhere in the house when needed.

Very powerful and extremely easy to set up
Very powerful and extremely easy to set up. The switch does come with all the hardware (minus screws) to attach into a standard width rack. (Something that seems to be in question based on the Q&A section). I have this powering 7 devices and it has not skipped a beat. The switch also runs relatively cool despite all the work it is doing. Very, very pleased with this purchase.

Horrible fluctuating whining noise
Horrible fluctuating whining noise from fan and power supply? If you like the sound of a small vacuum cleaner in your otherwise quiet room, buy this. Will very likely send this back. It was horrible immediately when I plugged it in. Really bad!!! It is almost hard to believe TP-Link would put out a product like this. I have used many other TP-Link ethernet switches, and they were great. This one is NOT!

Good specs, internal converter. But quite loud!
With two full-30W AP's and 2 15w cameras wired on the second floor of the house I needed a .3at switch with a decent power budget. I understand that that probably requires a hard-working converter which generates some heat, but TP-Link really took the easy/cheap way out on this. The fan is small and cheap and runs full speed all the time. The white noise coming off of this thing can be heard in a room next to the room that's next to the wiring closet! If you need to place this anywhere but in a basement you will likely get irritated by it.

Super noisy FAN on and full speed all the time
Pros:- works- all ports are powered- supposed to adapt the power to the load to not waste- all ports are Gigabit EthernetCons:- the fan is SUPER NOISY. I mean it. You will not want that device in any room where you are. In a closet that's ok, but not in a room. The fan doesn't seem to be defective at all, but is a tiny fan running all the time at max speed. Even when there is no load / nothing plugged into the switch. I wouldn't mind "fixing" this, at least with a temperature-based controlled for PC fans, but this would void the warranty. My wife's reaction: "do we have a fan (to get clod air in Summer) left on in the room? This would be 4 or 5 stars with a "smart" fan spinning up to keep the temperature constant.
