“Welcome to the family,” Nina Winchester says as I shake her elegant, manicured hand. I smile politely, gazing around the marble hallway. Working here is my last chance to start fresh. I can pretend to be whoever I like. But I’ll soon learn that the Winchesters’ secrets are far more dangerous than my own… Every day I clean the Winchesters’ beautiful house top to bottom. I collect their daughter from school. And I cook a delicious meal for the whole family before heading up to eat alone in my tiny room on the top floor. I try to ignore how Nina makes a mess just to watch me clean it up. How she tells strange lies about her own daughter. And how her husband Andrew seems more broken every day. But as I look into Andrew’s handsome brown eyes, so full of pain, it’s hard not to imagine what it would be like to live Nina’s life. The walk-in closet, the fancy car, the perfect husband. I only try on one of Nina’s pristine white dresses once. Just to see what it’s like. But she soon finds out… and by the time I realize my attic bedroom door only locks from the outside, it’s far too late. But I reassure myself: the Winchesters don’t know who I really am. They don’t know what I’m capable of… Soon to be a major motion picture starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried * A No.1 New York Times bestseller * A Sunday Times bestseller * A USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller * 5 million copies sold * 20-million-copy bestselling author This unbelievably twisty listen will have you glued to your headphones late into the night. Anyone who loves The Girl on the Train won’t be able to put down The Housemaid ! Review: W O N D E R F U L ! - I recently finished reading The Housemaid and absolutely loved it. From the very beginning, the story pulled me in with its suspense, shocking twists, and constant mystery. Every time I thought I had figured things out, another surprise completely changed the direction of the story. It was one of those books that kept me guessing until the very end. The pacing was excellent, and the characters were so interesting that I couldn’t stop reading. I honestly could not put the book down because I always needed to know what would happen next. If you enjoy psychological thrillers filled with drama, secrets, and unexpected turns, this book is definitely worth reading. Highly recommend! Review: Twists, Suspense, and Unputdownable Drama - Nina Winchester’s elegant home hides dangerous secrets, and when a young woman takes a job as the housemaid, she discovers just how twisted the family truly is. Every day brings small deceptions, subtle power plays, and the constant question: who’s really in control? This book had been sitting on my TBR for far too long, but with the movie out, I finally picked it up and I wasn’t disappointed. As expected from Freida McFadden, it’s full of suspense, tension, and twists that keep you turning pages. I guessed the big twist, but the journey to get there was gripping and thoroughly enjoyable. A must-read for fans of domestic suspense and psychological thrillers.

Freida’s done it again. Her books are so brilliant. They’re propulsive, fast action thrillers that you absolutely cannot put down. I probably read this in a day and now I want the other two books in the series. Having seen the series on TV, I’m now determined to read the books before the next one comes out this year. Nina is such a psycho. I began to wonder what was really wrong with her and it wasn’t until the end that I realized how cleverly written the book was. This is plotting at its absolute best. You absolutely have no idea what the twist will be or where they’ll come. Even with all the psychological thrillers, I’ve read over the past three years, I wouldn’t have guessed it. Sharp writing that gets straight to the point always gets my vote. Another brilliant read from a brilliant author. Highly recommended!

The Housemaid
Oh Wow!!! This book is totally awesome and I enjoyed reading it from cover to cover. This book is the best psychological thriller that I have ever read. I love Freida McFadden and her books are always good but this one is excellent. This book has twists and turns that I never would have though of. I highly recommend the book to you all and I know you are going to love "The Housemaid." I sure did. Please let us know what you think. Millie recently got released from prison and now she is having a very hard time hanging onto a job of any kind. And then she applies for a job as housemaid for Nina Winchester. The Winchesters' are one of the most prominent families in this town. If I get this job I will be all set and can finally move out of my car, The house where I would be working is gorgeous and the job is an in-house position, and the pay is great. The family consists of Nina, her husband Andrew and her eight year old daughter Cecilia. And hooray Nina finally calls I got the job! I start the next day, Cleaning, cooking and occasionally taking care of Cecilia. This job is going to be easy. My bedroom is in the attic but I do have my own bathroom. Boy was I wrong about the easy job, Cecilia is a spoiled little brat and cries about everything, Nina is a night mare she has lost it and she can not be all there. The second day I am there I come down and she is destroying the kitchen all because she left her PTA notes on the counter and now they are gone. She says I stole her notes. The only good thing with the job is the husband Andrew, he is so nice and very handsome too. Will I be able to put up with Nina and all of her fits? Will she fire me? Can I ever get alone with Cecilia? And most of all can I keep Andrew off of my mind and respect that he is a married man?

A NEW FAN !
For many years, I read nothing but non-fiction. I wanted to learn something. Something that I could apply to my life, that would improve it, make it better. Knowledge that would transform my personality. Transform me into a happier person. I wasn't interested in just more distraction. Lately, though, I've opened my mind to venture into works of fiction. In my search to find the right book, I noticed that this author had many six-digit, positive reviews. This one, The Housemaid, had the highest review count. I purchased the paperback copy. I know that this may seem strange to some, but there is just this sense of satisfaction when you see a book on your shelves, that you began and finished. I really enjoyed this story. It seemed plausible. Something that could really happen. I loved that in the beginning; I fell under the impression that a certain character was the flawed one, the dysfunctional one, the one who was bat crazy. She made me angry, because in real life, there are certainly people like that. Then, as the story progressed, I realized that this person, whom I thought was loco, was really highly intelligent. She had masterminded the entire tangle. There is a little bit of romance, also, that had me rooting for the two people who were attracted to each other. I truly enjoyed the twists and turns, and being surprised when things turned out to be the opposite of what I was led to believe. The ending was satisfying, and I enjoyed the book so much that I immediately ordered another from this author. I also enjoyed that one so much that I finished it in three sitting. Two with The Housemaid. I highly recommend any book that this author has written. She certainly rekindled my love of reading!

A very good read with a surprise ending. Don't drop it before you get to the second section. The novel is composed of three sections. The first section is a bit slow as the character and situation of one of the characters is developed. The second section does the same for other characters but is shorter as well as more exciting reading. The third section is short, scary, and very exciting. All in all, a very good read.

Quick, satisfying read.
This is great to get out of a slump. Is it life changing literature? No, but that wasn’t her point in writing it. It’s captivating and interesting. I enjoyed the ride.

Book Review - Fast-Paced and Suspenseful
Perfectly delivered! - paperback cover For me, it’s a solid 4.5 stars! I loved the ease of reading, particularly how Freida skips lengthy descriptions and dives straight into the story, maintaining a constant sense of suspense. Each page kept me eager for more, helped by the short, concise chapters. However, I couldn’t give it a full 5 stars because, while the ending was satisfying and the plot overall was quite unexpected, there were a few moments where I could predict what was coming. These subtle instances left me feeling a bit unsurprised, which I find disappointing in thrillers. Despite this, it was an engaging and enjoyable read!
