Have to 12 year old grandson for Christmas. He loves racing the cars. Now he wants more track and cars!

I ordered a used set because it was in stock and was able to deliver on time.I don’t know what condition this set left where ever it came from but when I opened the delivery carton it became apparent that the set box it had been retaped and reboxed to make it hold its shape with the inner tray put in upside down. The set was missing several pieces, several of track pieces had broken or bent connectors and one of the cars that has flashing lights had problems with the lights. I could see this set had been used due to some of the scuffing/scratches. My grandsons were waiting for me to assemble the track so they could start racing so, no pressure, I made it all work and they raced for about 2 hours. Overall I believe that Carerra makes an excellent quality set as, even with the missing or broken pieces, it all worked for an extended period and continues to work, I have 3 grandsons who are old enough to race and my 9 year old granddaughter is now interested in racing as well.

Super quality, I was really surprised with how sturdy it was. The cars move quickly, you can customize the track however you want it, and the packaging is easily repack-able every single time. I could see why you'd want to pay extra for the wireless but ultimately this is a really great toy for the money.if you don't have a ton of space, look for another item, this thing does get pretty big when fully built.

The track requires some time & patience to set up. It took two adults ~20minutes.The design - with two loop de loops & angled turn, etc - LOOKS really cool. But in actuality, the layout is so small & the turns are so tight that it’s virtually impossible to keep the cars on the track - they need top speed to make the loops, but then need to INSTANTLY slow down so as not to fly off the turns - that’s NOT physically possible.Even when you remove the loops - which are one if the coolest parts of the track - and reduce the track to a simple small oval, the cars can’t stay connected around the turns.The speed is controlled by a thumb button that is inconsistent & very hard to regulate…So, in the end, the only way to keep a car on the track is to drive at half speed all the way around … which isn’t fun at all for a racing game.This toy was a total bust. My 7 year old was extremely disappointed & I felt awful.

Laws of physics don't agree with this toy. It is very cool but to actually put together a few laps of racing takes precision throttle control. Even for adults this you isn't worth the heartache. very disappointed that this wasn't hours of racing instead its putting your car back on the track every turn.

Purchased for our grandchildren at Christmas and they love it!! Thank you!
