So far, so good. Christmas gift for my 14 year old daughter. She specifically asked for a portable cassette player! She appears to be loving it. She dropped it into the wet gutter only hours after getting it but it cleaned up and dried off enough that it's still working perfectly.

15 year old daughter is all about the nostalgic audio equipment. She came in possession of a lot of free cassette tapes but had no way to play them. Enter this baby. Was worth every penny to watch her try to figure out how to use it. Had no clue how to insert and flip the cassette, hit play, rewind and fast forward Seems like a lot of work she said. .. lol

So far I just got this player for my old cassette's. The headphones that come with it are cheap but it is old tech and better than nothing. When playing tapes, it is a little "staticie" at best. The audio quality isn't perfect but it is old tech so I'm just happy that it plays. I have not tried the recording feature yet. The radio also works pretty good as well. Overall i'd say if you need a cassette player with radio, this isn't a bad choice. Will update review in a few months.

First, this thing is defective by poor design the first problem I encountered was the battery compartment. The metal tabs that have the spring mounted on, just bends backwards and it will not hold the battery in place, I had to take it apart and rig something to stop the flimsy battery tabs from bending. With that semi fixed at least it would stay on . The radio actually sounds pretty good but the tape player sounds terrible (tinny and weak) the speed is really bad but after playing a few minutes it improves slightly not to mention the buzzing that you hear. The built in speaker sounds awful. Also it plays tapes in mono. I didn’t try to record on it, maybe later If you are new to cassettes This player just barely works and believe me your cassettes sound much better than what you will get with this player. I thought I would use this when I go walking, I really don’t want to take a chance on dropping my Sony which sounds amazing! Update! I tried to record and the mic does not pic up any voice but it does record a loud buzz really good!

Fair at best with playback but record is so bad that it's not useable for that function, even just for voice. Lots of background noise which I think is the tape mechanism turning inside. Awful. Returning. Cool looking but get a better quality one.

I ordered this cassette player not really knowing how well it’d play my old cassettes. But it played them very well! The sound was very clear! I was very impressed! It’s a small player and can be carried anywhere. It uses batteries but is also AC adaptable. The built in radio is a bonus. Overall I am very pleased with this product.
