Easy Raised Door Panel Expansion/Rattle-Stop Solution
These spacer balls worked quite well while doing a number of shaker-style raised panel cabinet doors. The operative thing to note is that you have about 1/16 inch of "soft" compression before the ball becomes very stiff. As is commonly known rubber (or synthetic in this case?) has a pronounced nonlinear spring rate -- or in other terms, it gets harder the more you compress it (...spring rate increases with displacement). Thus, accounting for the nominal 1/4 inch ball diameter it's simple math to calculate the maximum engagement of your raised panel edges into your door frame dados. I did 1/16 inch of total compression (or interference fit) accounting for a spacer ball(s) on each opposite edge of the panel -- so far nothing has exploded!Although a minor expense the balls seem a bit pricey, but all were uniformly formed (no discards) and the 100 count was right.

Sounds like a Mel Brooks movie.
The rubber spacers work very well in keeping a door panel centered and quiet. Keeps a loose fitting panel centered in styles a rails and from making a racket when closed.

Cabinet door building accessories.
These are little rubber balls that go into the slot of a cabinet door when you choose tongue and groove method of making the door. They allow the door panel to flex/expand and contract just a little during heat and humidity variations within your home.

Pricy for what they are. But they do work.
I used these to space out some flat panels in some shaker doors that I made. They work fine but for what they are, little rubber balls, they are pricy as hell. Somebody saw a niche and filled it and are profitting handsomely from this product. The same could be accomplished with some small cut up pieces of silicone tubing if one was so inclined to do. You're really paying for the convenience of not having to fuss with some other method of accomplishing the same thing.

great for expansion
Found these in a video - these worked great for spacing and allowing for expansion and contraction. The doors I built for the customer were originally to be painted but the loved them so much they are leaving them natural so the balls will help keep everything where it should be.

They work
These do exactly what they are made to do. Happy with my purchase.

I'm using it for a different purpose than you are.
Update:They worked better than I imagined. Have a few ricochets that safety bounced and stopped. Maybe the manufacturer can market these as safe indoor slingshot ammunition. Price to be a little cheaper for that purpose but they work.My use is different than most. I am going to try these as slingshot ammo. I plan on using these indoor. So I rate them 5 stars for that purpose. They seem round enough and they are made from rubber so if they bounce off of anything there won't be any serious injury or damage.

Keeping the Panels In Line
This is my first time to use space balls in building panel doors. Such a simple design/concept that made the process so easy. The panels do not rattle but can expand if needed.
