Fire Hazard?
I picked up a pack of these to charge my new Pixel 2 XL. Unfortunately, whenever I disconnect these cables, the cable makes some arcing/crackling fire type sound which seems pretty disturbing. I am not seeing any discoloration on the ends, however, it definitely does not sound ideal. This is happening with all three cables in the pack. It does not happen with the USB-C cable that came with the Pixel. Time to try another!

Terrible Product, Terrible quality control, Terrible Seller
I bought two 3-packs of these cables and they arc and spark when removed from a device. All six of them do this. I tested them with a Lenovo tablet, GoPro Hero7, GoPro battery charger, Pixel 2 XL, Galaxy S8 Active, and a OnePlus 6t. This behavior was the same across the board. I also tried different chargers just to make sure it was a consistent issue. Ever charger I used exhibited the same behavior. This constitutes terrible quality control standards which means I will not be making purchases from this company again. Especially since others have complained of the same thing without the seller bothering to respond to them. Garbage product from a garbage seller.

Android Auto Users, this is the one.
If you're here because, in your frustration to get Android Auto working with your phone, you followed a link from a forum to this one obscure cord that supposedly worked for other people, you're in the right place, and it works. I bought a Pixel 3 XL and new Alpine ILX-W650 car stereo, and could not get Android Auto to connect for more than a few seconds from day one with any other cord. I'd just about given up on it after upgrading my stereo's firmware, etc, when I found a link to this random dongle in a user forum and decided to give it a final try. I plugged it in and Android Auto linked up on my Pixel like they were soulmates - full control of my phone on my Alpine's touch screen, maps, Play Music, etc, and it didn't disconnect ONCE with nearly 2 hours of driving using Maps (a common problem). Keep in mind, I also turned off my phone's bluetooth before plugging it in, to prevent any connection wars with my stereo. I'm so glad this came with 3 cables, so now I have spares. I hear the alternative is to buy Google's official $20 dongle (that does not ship with the phone), and that should work with Android Auto, as well. I do wish these were a little longer, so I might shop the same manufacturer's other options and try them to see if they work as well.

2 years of daily Android Auto use.
Look at this poor, abused cable. It still works. It still works without disconnecting. It doesn't disconnect when I turn (hard), brake fullstop unexpectedly, go full throttle, or ignore speed bumps. It doesn't even disconnect when I pick up my phone and use it. I have intentionally abused this cable during use. Pulled and twisted it in ways that no cable deserves and it just said thank you and kept working. Go look at the pictures again. If this doesn't convince you that this $3 per cable purchase is worth it then you can't be pleased and I feel bad for anyone that interacts with you.

Don't Buy, They Won't Last more than 2 Months from my personal experience.
So I only write reviews when it's a bad product to warn other people. I've bought other cheaper cable that have lasted longer. I bought 1 month ago and only 1 is working now. The only reason I buy 1ft Cable is to put the charger and phone in my pocket without getting too bulky with the cable. 2 cables didn't last 1 month and the last I have to check if it's charging because sometimes it charges in Fast Charging, but most of the time it charges slower. I don't expect them to last forever, but a 3-6 month lifespan of constant use would be ideal with this price point. Not even 2 minths and now I have to buy new cables again. Maybe faulty cables? I don't know, but the wiring inside must be delicate or not put together good to not last 2 months.

The perfect length, reduces 'cable clutter', handy for travel, and seem well made.
Does your desk suffer from 'cable clutter', as mine does? While there are times when a 4 foot or 6 foot cable is required, most of the time all you really need is a foot or so. Any additional length just clutters the desk, and ends up getting in the way. I'm a big proponent of short cables, and I own them in Lightning, Micro USB, and now this USB Type C version. I've never had one go bad, despite having used them for months. They feel solid, and look nice, too. I like that the pattern helps to differentiate them from the other standard black cables which are so ubiquitous. They're the perfect size for travel, too. Sure beats the frustration of pulling a huge tangle of cables out of your bag or backpack, just to charge your phone. I highly recommend these.

Ideal for connections in limited spaces.
Recently I purchased a new Ford Fusion, the USB ports were placed in the front console area. The cord that I had used with my older car was too long and I ended up with a lot of slack to deal with in connecting the phone. These 1 foot cables were a perfect solution. They are just long enough to enable me to place the phone in the front console and hook it up to the USB port. No extra cabling to deal with and charging and Android Auto both work fine.I didn't need a three pack, but short cables seem to come in multipacks, or were more expensive purchased in a brick and mortar store. I have one cord in the console for ready use, I have a second to be used as backup and I shared the third with my car salesperson since she did such a nice job with me.

No good for SSDs.... S_L_O_W!
This cable is only good for phone charging. No good for SSDs. Read the specs. Not 10 Gbps rated. My bad for not being more careful. However, advertising is intentionally vague.I was about to RMA my Samsung T5 as defective. It was only getting 40-45 MB/s vs. the 360 MB/s new. Until... I discovered it was the cables I was using. The OEM cable tested the same as new vs. this crappy cable. AND, it's not just this cable, it's other mfrs too. Beware of cheap Chinese crap.
