So Glad I Found This Book
I first saw this book at a cancer support group shortly after being diagnosed. It was highly recommended by the Nurse Advocate who is one of the leaders of the group. I knew it was something I wanted to try - even for just the ideas on what you can eat for the different side effects of chemo. Once I received it and really started looking at it, there are a LOT of recipes I want to try. Probably more than any other single cookbook I own -and I own a LOT of cookbooks. I took this cookbook to my chemo treatment so my mother could look at it and there are several recipes she wants to try also.I tried the Individual Shepard's Pies today and they are wonderful. I found I cannot taste peas and carrots since starting treatment. When I prepared the Shepard's Pies today according to the recipe, I could actually taste the peas and carrots. Tomorrow night (since I have leftover mash potatoes) will be Mashed Potato-Chicken Patties, then maybe Pumpkin-Ginger Mini Muffins for dessert. This book has so many wonderful recipes and they are categorized by side effects patients may be experiencing. There are also dozens of helpful hints in this book. This book is a wonderful resource for anyone undergoing chemotherapy.

An Essential Part of Your Chemo Coping Toolbox
This book has been a godsend during my chemotherapy. I have Stage 1b breast cancer and have an aggressive form requiring aggressive drugs with really bad nausea and diarrhea as side effects. This book is organized by side effects, making it very easy for me or my mom or husband to quickly find a recipe that is going to help me on a given day in a given moment. Other books have good recipes, but you have to hunt for what works for what you need. This one is organized around what you need. My only request would be that the section on diarrhea could have more recipes, but we have found plenty to help us out. And these recipes are truly easy and family friendly. Even ones you think sound complicated are simple and quick. If you are or will be going through chemo, this book should be in you toolbox by or before Day 1 so you and you support team can plan well and be well.

Highly recommend.
Great recipe book during all the different phases of chemotherapy. If your loved one needs to gain weight, there are recipes specific for that same for if your loved one is experiencing nausea and other chemo side affects. Most recipes are easy to make and are good and healthy for the whole family.

Makes food/nutrition ideas during chemo so much easier! Yummy recipes, too!
I bought this book thinking it would help me keep my wife's nutrition strong while also making sure she could eat during the nausea and mouth sores. She's now through her 2nd round of chemo and these recipes have been a hit. They are easy to follow, and really yummy for both of us. Most importantly, she said, "Whoever wrote that book and recipes really knows what it's like to go through chemo." The book is organized by symptom/issue during chemo and it has seriously been an amazing resource. And, it includes detailed nutritional information for each recipe. Cancer is scary enough for the entire family to go through. These recipes are helping us with healthy food that is also "hitting the spot" for my wife's varied symptoms. THANK YOU Jeanne Besser, Kristina Ratley, Sheri Knecht, and Michele Szafranski, and Madelyn Wheeler. You are an incredible team.

Helpful And Entertaining
Bought this book to help my kitchen staff prepare the right foods during my chemotherapy and radiation treatments and was not disappointed. It was really helpful. I found its recipes to be tasty, easy to make, and organized by side effects. I could select a recipe for whatever the "side effect of the day" was.The lemon egg drop soup took care of my diarrhea so much that I had to eat the blueberry-peach crisp for constipation the next day. Fighting cancer is tough enough, both mentally and physically so anything that you can do to make you feel just a little bit better is really helpful in my learned opinion, and this book helped me in my 28 month battle with Bladder Cancer.

The Right Stuff
Bought this for my cousin who is staying ahead of stage 4 lung for nearly 3 years now. She was directed to this book, so and God (through me) provided. She says the book is perfect for her needs on diet, tips, advice and how to manage therapies. Given my cousin is a stubborn fighter and has been winning, I think I can recommend this book highly.

Great book, extremely helpful
This is a great book with many ideas to help your cancer patient survive the affects of chemo and radiation. As there are so many different symptoms that can happen at any given moment the book is great to just leave on the counter for help as cancer is no walk in the park.My best advice for anyone who is looking for help during this incredibly difficult time, ask a nutritionist if they have a copy as the American Cancer Society gives them to treatment centers and they hand them out at no charge. Good Luck to all of the caregivers out there who are helping someone through any type of cancer

Lots of good choices
Found some good recipes. I have to watch my salt so I don't put any in, even when called for. They still taste good.

Great ideas for meals when you have none!
This book is a great resource to find foods that satisfy what symptom you are suffering from. Much of the time when I am on a treatment week I never feel up to anything but the book shows some great tasting recipes that I like to eat. Another great feature of the cookbook is that for each symptom listed they give you possible roots of why it is like that and other suggestions of what foods to eat and avoid when suffering from those symptoms. The book also gives other types of advice like what to order while at a restaurant or when takeout food should be an option. I would recommend it to anyone who is going through treatment and has trouble deciding what to eat.
