Why do they keep mentioning this is for 11 inch steamers? There's a perfect indention that snugly fits my 8" bamboo steamers, holds them securely and works great. I don't know why they don't mention that - seems like maybe they have too much business to sell any more. I have no idea but I do know this works perfectly for my pans to sung in perfectly with the 8" steamers I pile on three deep.

Handwash by hand is better, the metal turned brown color or gray when placed in the washing machine. I mean the dishwasher

Does the job, and just fits our steamer and pot. One of the edges is a little sharp, and it’s thin and light, so I feel it’s perhaps a little over-priced. But there aren’t a lot of options that I found to ship next day. It does have one nice feature—engraved on one side of the ring is: THIS SIDE UP or something similar.

I'm so glad I found this steamer ring- it's made such a difference in how I use my bamboo steamer at home. I love making dumplings and bao, but I always struggled to find the right setup that didn't involve awkward balancing over a wok. This ring solved everything.

I bought this for my bamboo steamer, so I can use different pots under the steamer to hold the water. This ring is just big enough for my standard steamer size, but it's wide enough I can use several different pots for the water, which is great. It's easy to store with the steamer, easy to use, and it does what it's supposed to do. Very little steam leaks from the system when I use this ring.

If you use different pans or have a gas stove you need this to protect the steamer. This works great.

A very good purchase to use with a bamboo steamer. It fits over a lot of different size pans and pots and it allows the pan to be filled with more water which won't touch the bottom of the steamer. It is brilliant for gas hobs as well as it prevents the sides of the steamer from scorching.

Ordered this Jun24 and also an 8 inch bamboo steamer. Both arrived Jun26th intact and undamaged. This ring made of aluminum well finished (but not polished). One side is marked 'this side up', the outer lip contains any condensation that may collect, helping to direct in toward the middle and drain back to the heat source. The inner lip allows drainage as it is bent downwards and also helps to keep the ring centered on the heat source such as a pot of appropriate size. The outside diameter of 11 inches checked correct, the ring's annular flat width measured 1.38 inches and does not include the thicknes of the outer lip (0.10 inches) or any of the inner lip curvature. The inner opening measured 7 inches diameter. I expect it to last a long time, and could put it to use in other cooking applications (with a convenient lid) such as reducing liquids for thickness. The 8 inch bamboo steamer fits quite nicely.

Unfortunately the postman tried to force the envelope into my mailbox. It was bent and scratched. A "DO NOT BEND" sticker on the package would have been helpful. I tried to straighten the ring, still looks crooked but kind of works now.

My wife, who does the steaming in our house, loves this! It allows you to steam over pots that hold much more water than a wok of similar diameter and prevents degradation of the surface of your carefully-seasoned wok. Simple and effective!
