Infinity Kappa 60CSX 6.5" 2-Way Component Speaker System

Update: I added the 2" midrange speakers (20mx) making these a 3 way set, and a 10" JL Audio powered subwoofer and it is now lacking absolutely nothing. From Dave Matthews to Kendrick Lamar to Lamb of god and everything in between these do not disappoint. These sound great by themselves but with the mids and a sub the sound quality is phenomenal. Better than headphones. I replaced the head unit and amp in a 2018 Tundra non JBL crewmax. I thought I could get by with the Infinity reference coax setup for the front speakers by adding some new dash speakers. It sounded harsh and I could not get it tuned correctly. I caved and went with this component set and removed the dash speakers all together. The install is of course a little more involved. I decided on a surface mount tweeter install on the sail panels which works great and with these being as small as they are, it doesn't really look out of place. So, my initial setup, 75w rms 4 channel amp against a Kenwood DMX 907s and infinity Kappa 6.5 components in the front. Sounded great. I was going to return the coax pair but decided to move them to the back... What a difference replacing all of the speakers made. It sounds insanely good. I don't have a subwoofer and get solid mid bass punch and extreme clarity. Once I switched out the rears I get better than expected (within reason with no sub) low end as well. I did sound deaden my doors but I did not use rings and this thing is off the charts. Extremely happy with the outcome. Definitely worth the cost. And I am just using factory wiring with a few metra adaptors for ease of install. Highly recommend, but you do need an amp and you should use some deadening. I used the cheap stuff from Home Depot and it is working out great. Just search YouTube. I'm sure the pros will disagree with my sounds deadening choice but it definitely does the job just fine and for a fraction of the cost.

I want to highlight the reasons for selecting the Infinity Kappa 60CSX for the front of my 2010 Toyota RAV4. Since there wasn't anyway in today's retail environment to audit car stereo, I have to buy it based on researching online. One of the best respected car audio resource is C*****field, unfortunately they are out of stock so I bought @ Amazon (but I did purchase the Hertz Coaxial from them). Good: 1) 93dB efficiency - I can go without external amp. 2) Silk dome tweeter - I prefer fabric over metal (aluminum or titanium), the car is an enclosed space with many hard surface so high frequencies bouncing off hard plastic can be fatiguing. 3) High Power Handling - while the power handling exceeds the rated output on the head unit (Atoto S8) The Bad: 1). Crossover enclosure is huge. I ended up removing the cover so it can fit in the door. 2). I would prefer quick crimp connectors and lugs instead of screw-down terminals because the screw terminals could loosen over time subject to road vibrations. 3). The included mounting bracket is useless with Toyota and needed Metra 82-8148 to fit the doors The challenge with Toyota 2010 (applies to 2006 to 2011) RAV4 - tweeter need a place to mount, and I believe it can be mounted on the A-pillar with one of the included tweeter housing or as I shown in the picture, I modified the tweeter grille to mount the tweeter. Another challenge is finding the best location for the crossover and how to attach to the door. I found the best place is right on top of the woofer position below the tweeter, the narrow opening allows mounting the crossover without it's cover and enclosure with long tie-wraps. I have a long history as audio enthusiasts and had high-end home stereo over the years. I am very impressed by the performance of the 60CSX, in my opinion, it sounded more natural than Morel and Focal and even the more expensive higher range of Infinity, so I think this is fantastic value for money. The other car speakers I found to be better were the Audiofrog, a newer brand by ex-JBL engineers, and Hertz Mille MLK but both of these require external amplifier to drive properly not to mention both of them costs hundreds more.

I live in México and just purchased a new Ford Territory SUV, the audio system had lots to be desired, i went with 2 sets of these component speakers to bring it to life, and i gotta be honest, i have never enjoyed rides like this until now, the depth from the lows is precise, the tweeters bring the vocals upfront like no other, did the installation with sound deadener from amazon basics on the doors and some generic fast rings for the speaker midrange and i can blast Max volume from my factory radio with a very decent amount of volume and clarity, have to say i'd purchase infinity Kappa again without thinking twice, the amazon basics sound deadener helped a ton with rattle and sound direction inside my SUV, paired these with an infinity basslink sm2 and the sound experience is just from other world! My boss has burmester sound system on his Benz and he said this infinity kappa's sound quality is kinda close, dont hesitate into purchasing Kappa for your car!

I run these in a 2009 Mazda RX 8 paired with Infinity 93 iX series and these things sound incredible. They are powered by Alpine PDX Amps and I put these things trough the ringer. I have had them for 5 years now and they just keep going. I do a lot of driving and will spend 6 hours or more on a trip and all that time I have the Stereo cranked. Cranked so much that my Alpine sub Amp will get too hot and it turns off for about 15-20 minutes. I would say the longest drive I have made with these is 9 hours with the stereo on for almost all of that time except to get gas or something. They are very crisp and clean sounding speakers. I am impressed with these and they are what I will put in my other car.

Bought these speakers and were professional installed . The issue was on of the crossovers was bad . So had to swap out and had to get another crossover when it was a set and to keep it all infinity was annoying that being brand new and finding out that we needed a new part even though this set was brand new and complete. Not so much . Once with used another crossover the speakers sound amazing in a 2005 Mercedes c240 . Did have to add a amp to the system. Used a 1500 w amp .

These speakers are worth the price. Very clear when pushed to their limits. On Spotify you can find a playlist for hi-fi songs. You will be amazed at how clear they sound. They have the option to add a mid speaker. You'll see an output on the crossover. My last 3 way kappa speakers came with a crossover as well. But I purchased those in 2005 and they were good but not great. I play all kinds of music and these kappas handle it all. Now I want to replace the older 6x9 kappa speakers I have because they have the tweeter built in, as opposed to having a crossover and a tweeter that can be placed anywhere. I have the infinity reference amp pushing these bad boys at 100%. The amp is rated 100 watts rms per channel and they do not clip or distort my speakers. Beautiful speakers, just to look at. I successfully replaced the bass speakers in these kits (rear window - Kappa 90 csx - and front doors - Kappa 60 csx), without making major changes, the old and tired OEM Harman / Kardon on my SAAB 9-5 / 2008. An upgrade that deserved in all respects, volume and clear and distortion-free sound even at full volume with the OEM Harman / Kardon amplifier (which I intend to keep). The next step is the acquisition of 2 Infinity Kappa - 20MX kits to complete the 3-way systems front and rear and mounting them instead of the current 2-in-1 speakers (dashboard and rear doors) along with the two kit kits (minor modifications required to be buried in the door faces). Kappa 90-csx woofers play a strong and clear bass and I can say that there is no need for a subwoofer (I'm still thinking - but if it will be the chosen one = Infinity Kappa 1200w 12 inch - remains to be seen). Other reviewers had me on the fence about whether to pull the trigger on these. I’ve always been a fan of Infinity products’ sound quality. The included crossovers seem to be where most people have problems. One particular reviewer really struggled with these. Upon receiving them, for a few minutes I was looking them over and beginning to agree that these were poorly designed. The real problem is lack of instructions. It’s actually easy. Notice the two paint or ink dots on each crossover, these show the alignment of the top cover with the bottom base. Gently pry the very top-most cover off. Most people try to separate them too low not realizing that the very top just pops right off giving access to the wiring points. Not very intuitive, but also not what I’d call a bad design. I figured it out after a couple of minutes looking at it closely with a flashlight. Don’t hesitate, these are wonderful!!

Incredible sound

I like the sound quality but you would need an additional amplifier to use it, as a power-packed speaker. Also, Amazon to improve delivery time, as it took more than 5 days to deliver !!!

Very nice product. I have been using for last two months. Paired with JBL amplifier. It sounds really great. Even at high volume it sounds crisp. I am using in my dzire paired with company fitted stereo. Damping is done on all four doors inside the sheet metal and pads. It sounds really great

These speakers are amazing, very good quality sound , easy to install and they look amazing.
