Great notebooks but didn't smudge when used
As I use a lot of notebooks on my game nights these came in quite handy for my players to keep notes in.Some used pencils some used pens none of them complained it didn't smudge very easily and it was a good quality paper.

Pleased
Love the colours! Good price for the number of notebooks too. My only thing is the thickness of the pages. They’re a little thin for anything but a pen. When I use my highlighter it leaks through the page quite a bit. Apart from this I think they’re quite neat :)

I am enamoured with their versatility
I find these notebooks to be quite exquisite, and I have, in fact, procured a second pack with great enthusiasm. The pack, containing a generous twenty-four notebooks, each adorned with kraft paper covers, is a sight to behold. The quality of craftsmanship is evident, from the sturdy and ornate card covers to the neatly stitched, blank pages within. A canvas for one's creative expressions, if you will.Indeed, these notebooks have become my trusted companions in the pursuit of my literary endeavours.Their lightweight nature makes them ideal for capturing fleeting thoughts, sketches of characters, or the outline of a captivating plot twist. The paper, though delightfully smooth and slightly off-white, possesses a thickness that accommodates a variety of writing instruments with elegance and grace.I must admit that I am enamoured with their versatility. They lend themselves equally to the meticulous planning of my latest novel as they do to the spontaneous sketches that often grace their pages. In short, these notebooks have found a permanent place in my study, and I am most delighted with the acquisition.

Excellent for Pencils - Less Great for Inks
Nowhere in the product description could I find anything stating that these sketchbooks contain acid-free paper, so I'm unlikely to use them for attempting any glorious masterpiece of art. However, I can get through quite a lot of little sketchbooks like these coming up with designs for new creatures and locations for my projects, some of which go through several designs - and sometimes I just draw such creatures as occur to me for later use.The pages of these books are fairly thin - some inks do go through the paper. However, they're excellent for pencils and most inks are fine, assuming you only use the one side of the page. (If you want to use inks with these, always put a blank sheet of paper between the page you're drawing on and those under it to avoid any fresh inks actually staining the next page). The covers have twelve different plain colours and twelve with assorted abstract designs, all with some gold foil stamped elements, which make them look very nice. (I had eleven different foil designs - the twelfth was a repeat). They have a sewn binding which seems fairly strong, so they're not going to suffer from the old rusting staples problem. Also leaves nothing to catch yourself on, if giving these to a child for drawing.Price at time of writing makes them less than a pound each, which, these days, is pretty good value for reasonably well-made little sketchbooks.

Nice notebooks; but not suitable for ink/rollerball pens
First impressions were great; they look and feel like nice quality notebooks and they're consistent in size and thickness so will be good for 'indexing' if you like to use different notebooks for different subjects. Half of the notebooks have attractive foiled pattern covers and the other half are plain. All have sturdy card covers and are stitched and well put together.Unfortunately though the paper inside is not great quality. It's a nice colour being plain, smooth and slightly off-white and it does feel nice to write on, but it's very thin. Biro and pencil are ok but I tested three ink/rollerball pens and all bled a little, went through the page and transferred onto the back and through onto the next page. I'm happy to use them with biro but I definitely wouldn't recommend them for use with fountain or rollerball pens, nor as sketchbooks. Gel pen didn't bleed through but could be clearly seen on the other side.
