Best all around gaming keyboard for the price with no weaknesses
This keyboard has everything you want for gaming. Only 0.7ms input lag on rtings which is really good. The new optical switches are really consistent and I love how I can switch the actuation point depending on if I'm gaming or typing. The choice between 3 levels of elevation is also nice. For gaming, this is one of the best keyboards you can possibly get. I'm a high-mmr CSGO player and I can tell you this delivers. Your counter-strafing and ability to stop on a dime is amazing. This keyboard can take as many inputs at once as you can press and doesn't have cord splitting or other artifacts. It's true 1000hz polling too. You also have a good USB-C cord that's braided and detachable. You can also keep the tool under the keyboard if you travel to LANs or in general. It's perfect. You also have onboard memory and it's very easy to use the SteelSeries software to configure. It's easy to update firmware as well. The build quality is very good too. They used aluminum in the body and the higher quality PBT keycaps. Also, if anything breaks, you can easily replace the keycaps OR the switches themselves and SteelSeries actively sells replacement parts unlike Logitech for example who only sells switches and not keycaps. There's really nothing I can complain about. The only thing maybe is that some keyboards like the wooting have release triggered as soon as your key starts going back up. However the wooting has slightly more input lag on direct press and CSGO, Valorant, and most games honestly favor new inputs over releasing inputs anyway. Also some keyboards like the Corsair K65 have 8000hz polling rate which is insane. However with that being said, the 8000hz polling and early release triggering from those competitors really aren't a big deal and have their own downsides - especially the 8000hz polling because it can actually take up some more cpu usage so I don't think it's necessarily efficient at the sub 1ms level. Overall, I looked at all of the popular keyboards for gaming in this price range and this one was the best for the price for my setup. I didn't talk much about typing btw but I am a megaracer on typeracer.com and it feels very good to type on in the 1.5mm mode + 7deg incline. If you're looking for a gaming keyboard, look no further, this has literally everything with no downsides.

very good keyboard
this keyboard may be a bit expensive but, it’s worth it the editable actuation point is very nice, if you want to just type or make an essay there’s a typing mode on it. Where if you want to game with it there’s a gaming mode where your actuation is put down, in my opinion this is the best keyboard in the market besides the apex mini pro which is more expensive but obviously better.

Compatible PS5 KEYBOARD
Works with PS5 my son loves it. Might want to order extra keys because they can easily break.

seems to be nice?
had a hyperx origins 60%, this ones clearly better and faster as the actuation point is 1.0mm instead of the 1.8mm on the hyperx. it is very light and surprisingly very nice for the money. you cant actually change the actuation point except from switching from gaming (1.0mm) to “writing?” (1.5mm) looks very nice with its full just black color, i am having problems with the rgb randomly turning on even though i fully turned it off. i did already end up ordering some white keycaps off of aliexpress so ill add a pic after i actually put them on.

I almost kept this but went with something else
The good: 1. Aluminum top plate. 2. Hot swap (with caveats) 3. Optical switch 4. Good in-depth software 5. PBT keycaps on this version. 6. This thing has thock out of the box. Not sure what sound/lube treatment they gave this overall but it is really good for a prebuilt. 7. The volume dial and mute button are a nice perk. The cons: 1. The top plate is aluminum but thin. The whole keyboard is super light, which gave me concerns of overall material quality. 2. The LEDs are pretty dull. On par with a RoyalKludge, which is a budget board. Logitech, HyperX and NZXT all had better LEDs. 3. Some video reviews indicate that the hotswap will only work with steelseries proprietary switches. If this is the case, they need to be transparent about it and they aren't. 4. No USB passthrough. Not common in many keyboards but I feel should be a standard feature for wired keyboards. Personally, I would much rather have this than a volume dial so that my mouse USB receiver is right next to it to reduce lag or signal issues with it. In the end, I decided against this one largely because of how light it was and the lower quality LEDs. For my the HyperX Core was a better value for the money despite not being hotswapable.

Great product at an awesome price!!! It costs more than $200+ dollars here and I got it at only $170+!!! An absolute steal!!! The build is premium and feels good! The RGB also looks really good with combination with the build compared to my old Cosair keyboard.

I just got my hands on the SteelSeries Apex 9 Mini, and let me tell you, it’s like a party for my fingers! This compact 60% keyboard is the perfect blend of style and function, freeing up desk space for all my important gaming snacks (because we all know those are essential). The first thing I noticed is the sound of the keys—they’re so satisfying that I almost caught myself clicking away to a rhythm. Seriously, if there were a musical genre for keyboard clicks, this would be the headliner! Every press feels like a mini celebration, and I find myself typing just to hear that delightful sound. The response time? It’s practically instant! With a 0.2ms response time, I feel like I’m operating at superhuman speeds. The option to switch between a light 1mm press and a 1.5mm keystroke means I can tailor my experience for whatever game I’m diving into. It’s like having a keyboard that knows exactly what I need! The double shot PBT keycaps are not only durable but also feel great to type on. I’ve put them through some intense gaming sessions (and by intense, I mean yelling at my screen), and they’ve held up beautifully. Plus, the RGB lighting adds a touch of flair to my setup—my keyboard looks so good it could be in a tech fashion show! Overall, the SteelSeries Apex 9 Mini has completely transformed my gaming experience. If you’re looking for a keyboard that sounds amazing, responds faster than you can think, and looks fantastic on your desk, this is the one to get. Your fingers will thank you, and so will your gaming scores!
