Get Pretty, Cancery Sisters!
I've been chemoing it up for a little better than 4 months now, and finally "really" have lost most of my hair (it happened super gradually and kind of snuck up on me), and I've lost eyebrows and eyelashes as well. The title and premise of this book spoke to me, so I purchased it and thumbed through it, reading the chapters that pertained to "me" at my chemo sessions. Lots of good, basic info in here, and some things that no one tells you (like the eyebrow/eyelash thing - who knew?). The author has a background in the the beauty biz and she's a breast cancer survivor, so she's uniquely positioned to give us a very personal perspective on maintaining a beauty regime as you go through treatment. I gave the book 5 stars for the jaunty, well written content, as well as all the pratical tips. The only thing I didn't respond to was that it was written, really, for breast cancer survivors, and not the general cancery population of women who are coping with any number of other cancers. The author speaks about mastectomy, breast reconstruction, etc., and that's not my personal journey so it didn't resonate with me but I understand that the book is about her journey, which is not necessarily everyone else's.

Amazingly informative
This is an amazing book. It is a must read for people currently battling any kind of cancer. I think it also would be extremely helpful for family or friends of someone who is dealing with the big C. I am an ovarian cancer survivor and wish I had all the wonderful tips that Caitlin offers in her guide. She handles a very difficult subject with humor and grace. I highly recommend this well written, informative and witty perspective on a subject that is all to common in our world today.

So helpful, pass it on
For my ladies with cancer, this is a great book. I was recently diagnosed and had all doctors telling me these terrible things that might happen but really no information on how to make it through/better. So I did my own research and this book came up. It's great. She covers a lot and offers tips and some good information you might not have considered. She also lists products so you don't have to guess what might be good. It's helped me so far and I wish I had found it at the start of my diagnosis. She covers beauty from the beginning and I found it after losing my hair. Check it out, pass it along, help another woman out.

I purchased this book for a friend of mine who ...
I purchased this book for a friend of mine who is undergoing chemo for 18 weeks. She called to thank me and said how comforting and helpful it was and that she recently took it with her to chemo and another woman undergoing chemo asked if she could borrow it when my friend had finished reading it.I only learned about the book from something I read in Real Simple magazine, and it proved to be the right book at the right time for a close friend.

Great Book!
The best and most informative book I have read on dealing with beauty, hair, and anything to do with cancer. Not just breast cancer. I believe anyone who is going thru chemo should read this book. There were so many things I did not know and so many great tips. I love the way the author gives examples of the products , from high end prices to lower cost pricing. I have recommended this book to everyone I talk to at my chemo center. Very well written and insightful! Thank you!
