Q: What size would you recommend for a 8 yr girl that wears size 14 in girls?

My daughter is 10 and she wears a size 12-14 in girls clothes. I got her the large and it fits her just fine but she will definitely not be wearing it for dress up very long.

My daughter is 52 inches tall and 55 lbs, and the medium is short on her, but it is also wide and loose around her abdomen and chest- I had to pin it. She's slim, though. I would think medium would be too big for 44 lbs.
