Plenty big for 6', 290lbs and plenty warm for midwest winter camping
I am a large guy, 6' 290lbs, and normal sleeping bags are too small for me. I bought the XL -25F bag with the hope that it would meet these four requirements: 1) Be large enough to turn my body over inside the bag (without turning over the bag itself). 2) Sleep comfortably with my entire body inside the bag, including my arms. 3) Be warm enough to sleep in a tent at 0F + 4) Be small/light enough to attach to a backpack Unfortunately, I think the sleeping back is too bulky and heavy for any serious backpacking trip. But after using this bag for a while, I've come to realization that's not the fault of this bag - that's more a matter of me not being able to fit in a normal size bag. I think it's unrealistic to expect a manufacturer to make a sleeping big enough to fit me in comfortably and also make it light and warm enough for backpacking in really cold weather. Once I accepted that reality, I came to appreciate even more how well this bag meets the other three requirements. It's plenty big for me. I can flip my entire body over inside of it without taking my arms out and avoid getting the bag and my clothes all twisted up. It's long enough to fit my entire body inside the bag including my head, with the hood comfortably flipped up over my head all night for extra warmth if I want. The hood and can be tightened up to further seal off the inside. I've slept in this sleeping bag in about 15F in a tent in sweats, a sweatshirt and a hat and socks, and I was perfectly comfortable all night. My feet did not get cold. I felt like I could go colder than that without any trouble. Another thing that might not be emphasized as much is the quality. This is a very high quality bag. I didn't find any loose threads. The zippers are super smooth and large, easily zipped/unzipped with one hand. The zipper does get bound up pretty easily, but that's simply because there's a lot of material - which is necessary, given the temperature rating of this bag. The ripstop material is super smooth and slides around very easily, making it simple to move it around inside a tent from inside or outside the bag. The straps on the compression sack are very strong and so are the buckles. And the compression bag is large enough to make the job of stuffing it back pretty manageable. It seems like it would be really easy to cinch down the straps so tight that the seams rip, so I am pretty conscious about how much I tighten them to avoid that. This sleeping bag is really excellent for a winter camper enthusiast like me with a large body. Once I let go of the idea that I could take it on a backpacking trip, I have been super happy I bought it. It's has really been a terrific investment and opened up an entirely new season of camping for me. I couldn't recommend any higher.

Nice sleeping bag. Very warm.
I got the -25⁰ rated sleeping bag. It is very thick and feels like a quality bag. The zipper worked fine, and it is very roomy. The interior fabric is very soft & comfortable. It is a heavy bag weight wise, but that is expected for a bit less expensive sleeping for such a cold rating. It isn't very good for warmer temperatures above freezing, as you will sleep too hot & sweat in it. The materials & quality of assembly of the two I purchased is really good. The stuff bags they are in work great. Though a little tough to get the bags stuffed into, it takes a bit of arm strength. I am very happy with them both, and they work great for what I need them for. I think they are worth the price & the quality is good. They might mot be so good for someone wanting to take them hiking long distances, as the -25⁰ bag weighs about 10lbs and it is pretty bulky even in the stuff carrying bag. If you are looking for a hiking sleeping bag, you might want to pay more for a lighter bag that compresses down more than this. But overall, a bag rated for such low temps, and NOT having any down feathers in it, the weight & bulkyness isn't bad at all. It is well worth the money in my opinion.

Need to be a contortionist to get it back in that bag!
Well, went to Coracle (Local Burning Man event) and it was predicted to be 21 degrees F the first night of the event and 28 degree F the second. I was planning ahead and bought this bag (delivered 2 days before the event). I seemed heavy and the multiple bands and clips on it sort of worried me....what kind of monster did this stuff sack work so hard to contain? It was like one of those magicians cans where stuff keeps coming out forever when I pulled it open to use it on it's maiden voyage. It was fluffy. Further, This bag handled the low temepratures very well! I was warm and cozy both nights. I used it with a Coleman XL cot and it fit great, nothing hanging off. The only thing I would have asked for was a more flannel type feel (fuzzy) to the inside fabric while sleeping. As my weekend came to an end, it was time to put this thing back in the stuff sack....much easier said than done. I folded it, rolled it tightly and tried to neatly put it back in the stuff sack. After trying to fit the stuff sack around the neatly folded end of squished and rolled bag, holding the sleeping bag with my knees on the floor of the tent. using both hands to maneuver the edges of the stuff sack around the other side of the sleeping bag. it took quite a bit of squishing and shoving to get it back in, roughly 10 or more minutes and I still haven't gotten the bands and clips back on, barely got the pull cord tightened. So, although a very nice bag to sleep in, was very warm, it wasn't much fun putting it back in the bag. Maybe a larger stuff sack is in order.

The great product for what you pay for.
I bought this sleeping bag because typically when I go camping it can get pretty cold at night around the '30s. My old sleeping bag definitely would be cold at that temperature. I decided to get a zero degree bag and this had a lot of great features. I like the drawstring that brings the opening of the sleeping bag around your head. I'm 6 ft and I have enough room to move around on the inside. Also there's a little pocket for like a headlamp that you can put it in and it has velcro. Also at the top where the zipper zips up there is velcro that holds the sleeping bag closed so when you move around it doesn't automatically unzip. Also this is a double zipper. So you can open up the bottom of the sleeping bag for some air flow if you get too hot. I did notice overnight that it got a little moist on the inside of the sleeping bag. I suppose you can't avoid that, but I was definitely warm and not cold. I plan to do winter camping and look forward to putting this to the test. And yes the zipper does get caught in the fabric but I knew that going in from other reviews. It seems to be a good product for the price.

They needed to go about 10% bigger on the stuff sack. I have the Altos Sport mummy bag -18, and the Celsius XL -18, and I have no issues getting them back in their bags. I am pretty good at it. I could barely get the -32 back in, and it took 2 days of stuffing... it's still not all the way in. I put the opening up, so it could exit air, but it's still so tight. I can't believe the sack even stood up to the stuffing without blowing. Other than that, it's just a ridiculous sleeping bag, weighs 10 lbs, and I will hopefully never be in temps near -32c. But the bag was on sale for less than a crappy bag, so now I own this... It will be a great buy, if I lose power this winter, and at the same time my city gets about 15c colder than the record... Teton makes great stuff. I use my -18 bag a fair bit, and I have never even needed to zip it up. It's like it's own bed, and the -32 one more so. So much padding. It's what most people envision when they think about a really over the top comfy warm big sleeping bag. Fuzzy, warm, you want to be in it. when it gets dark and cool. I use a 4man Geertop tent and a 2man Marmot Crane tent. You should use a tent with aluminum poles, they are just a step up from fiberglass imo. Nylon tents are lighter than polyester, but can stretch and sack when wet, poly doesn't stretch when wet. All cheap tents seem to be polyester, and nylon seems to be more for backpacking lightness, but I am not exactly sure on that point. I like a tent with a full fly, that comes all the way to the ground and beyond. I live where it rains a lot, and waterproof and warm is all I care about. Look for a 4 season tent. I use Naturehike cots, with Klymit sleeping pads and the little Teton pillows with their own stuffsacks and removable washable pillowcases, they are great and match the patterns in my Teton sleeping bags! So far, I have slept right through the nights with that setup every time. Good luck! Happy camping!

This is a serious camping sleeping bag for those who feel the cold. It has a shoulder strip which can be tightened around you and a hood to be tightened round your head. In normal temperatures this is not needed, but good options to have if it drops without warning. It's more expensive than others, but you're paying for the extra features it offers for colder nights. The inner material is soft and smooth against the body and it's very warm indeed. Very happy with this purchase and would recommend to the serious camper.

Super warm and roomy, would recommend. I did the "Big Snore" charity event early March in support of the homeless. Slept under a cardboard box in this on a cold night and was as warm as toas, love it. Going to purchase the handed version for my partner as soon as I convince her that camping is fun!
