This replacement baffle board for our Hearthstone Clydesdale insert was very economical when compared to a factory original which runs in the neighborhood of $200+. The most difficult part of replacing this board is the removal of the board carrier frame which is quite heavy and somewhat time consuming and difficult to do. You can go to Hearthstone's web site and see the procedure in the page for the Clydrsdale insert. Be very careful how you handle this board as it is very light and fragile. I would suggest that you apply some anti seize to the screws and bolts to make them easier to remove in the future. Since the original board was about six years old, I can't rate how long this board may last. Although this board was received in good condition thanks to its factory packaging, Amazon did a poor job by placing it in an oversized carton with no paper or peanuts to keep it from sliding around.

If you are reading this, you are as sad as I was when I broke the very fragile existing baffle trying to get 15 years of ash/creosote out of the top. The installer had left a piece of strapping across the oval-round flue adapter so I could not get a shop vac in there (why I almost always do things myself). I looked around for options and found this one. Someone put a lot of thought into this part. • Arrived well packaged. • Fit perfectly. I did not have to cut it. • Is designed for easy installation. If you are reading this, you know this matters. BTW… Find the two cotter pins. • The shiplap seam works very well. I’m not worried about it. • It is far more affordable than other options. Paying more for a less good installation experience was not in my plan. • It is fire rated 1800 degrees rather than the original 2300. If I ever get there, I'll buy another one... I’ve had about three weeks of fires and some hot ones, and the baffle doesn’t appear different than the day I put it in. Someone should recognize the person that designed this part. Thank You.

Haven't built a fire yet but seems like a great replacement for the original board on my 19 year old stove. My stove had basically a piece of angle iron holding the board down in the front that was always rattling around. The piece of stainless steel with wires to attach the board is a big improvement. I haven't priced a replacement from Hearthstone in years but I'm sure this is much cheaper. Highly recommend.
