Nice size, accurate and easy to use
The voltage tester is an essential tool for anyone working with electricity. It is a simple and straightforward device that allows you to check whether a circuit is live or not. There are many voltage testers available in the market, and after using one, I can confidently say that it is a tool that no electrician should be without. The device is incredibly easy to use. All you need to do is touch the metal tip of the tester to the wire or circuit you want to test, and it will give you an instant reading. The tester usually has an LED light or an LCD display that shows the voltage reading, making it easy to understand and interpret. One of the best things about the voltage tester is its accuracy. It gives accurate readings, which is crucial when working with electricity. You can trust the results it gives you, which makes it a reliable tool to have in your kit.Another great feature of the voltage tester is its compact size. It is small enough to fit in your pocket, making it easy to carry around with you wherever you go. You can quickly test circuits without having to carry around bulky equipment.Overall, the voltage tester is a tool that every electrician should have. It is reliable, accurate, and easy to use, making it an essential part of any toolkit. Whether you are a professional electrician or a DIY enthusiast, a voltage tester is a must-have tool that can help you work safely and efficiently.

Review summary: not worth using- NCV detection is spotty- Screen can be difficult to see even indoors in a well lit room- Automatic DC, AC, Resistance, and Continuity detection is unreliable- Speaker for the audible continuity indicator is almost uselessI been looking for a compact stick meter like this for a while now. The current selection of compact stick meters is not great. Most of them have flaws or questionable design decisions that make them unsuitable for general use, in my opinion.I ran across this meter while browsing Aliexpress and it looked to have most of what I was seeking. So I decided to pick it up here on Amazon, in case there was an issue with it.Unfortunately this meter does not pass the check. The first and most major issue is the grouping of AC, DC, Resistance, and Continuity measurements into the Auto mode ONLY. This means you do not have the option to independently select any of these modes. Why this is an issue? There will almost certainly always be some electrical interference nearby wherever you plan to use a multimeter. You may see up to a few volts of interference with the probes touching nothing at all. Even if the interference in the air is low, once you touch the probes to a circuit or electrical device, the interference can be multiplied by the frame or wiring of the device itself. The behavior I observed with this Kaiweets stick meter is it would constantly switch between AC, DC, and Continuity mode when I was simply trying to measure continuity of a mechanical electrical device that was not connected to any power source at all. Completely sandboxed. But the interference in the surrounding environment alone was enough to register around 2vBecause this meter uses a 1.5v threshold to switch between voltage measurement and continuity in the Auto mode, this means the meter was constantly hopping between modes, showing voltage for a few seconds, then switching over to continuity. This alone completely breaks the usability of this meter. And the measurement readings also felt very unreliable. Why the manufacturer decided to make the other modes individually selectable, but not the voltage and resistance modes, is confusing. The other issue is the NCV (non-contact voltage) detection. Should you rely on NCV to know if a circuit is live? Absolutely not. Good way to get yourself shocked or even killed. That said, NCV is still a useful tool for specific scenarios.I have, and have used, many purpose built NCV detectors for many years. Each model tends to have its' own characteristics, and detection varies greatly. Usually you can learn the behavior of a specific NCV tool and adapt your testing method to make it give you somewhat reliable readings. Not this Kaiweets meter.I would class the NCV on this Kaiweets meter to a mid-lower tier compared to the others I've used. The main issue is the detection varies a lot when detecting the same wire at the same distance and orientation. You can touch the nose of the NCV antenna in the exact same spot to the same live wire and get a different reading (or no reading) every time. It is not consistent at all. That makes the NCV completely unreliable, and a feature that will go unused on a meter that was designed around this use case as one of the primary functions. Heck, when you power on the meter, NCV is the mode it ALWAYS goes into FIRST. You have to press the mode selection button several times to get into Auto mode every time you go to use it. A very annoying trait, but one could overlook this if not for the fact of all the other issues. One thing that really attracted me to this meter was the Phase Rotation detection feature. That was one of the primary reasons I decided to give this meter a try. But due to the unreliability of the NCV portion of the meter, that also make the phase detection unreliable as well. Not good. Now while the screen is backlit, because it uses an inverted polarized display (primary black with white text), the display is difficult to see in a well lit room, and almost impossible to read outdoors unless you have the display tilted perfectly perpendicular to your vision. I found myself constantly fiddling with the meter to get it into a position where I could read the display, then I had to find some way to wedge it in place, since it is so light weight and has no kickstand or other method to hold it in place. The last problem I had with it was the speaker or buzzer for the Continuity indication. I've had some very quiet meters that are infuriating to use, but this one takes the crown. You simply are not going to hear it unless you are in a quiet room, or hold the meter to your ear. That is basically useless in my eyes. All said, if it were not for the Auto mode jumping back and forth between different readings at random, I could deal with the other problems. But considering the meter has so many other issues for just simple usability, I can not use nor recommend this meter.Unreliability of a testing device that is meant to notify of potential present danger, is dangerous in itself.I really wish someone would make a reliable stick meter that most of the features this little meter has.For now the hunt continues.

Great for DYI Safety
Works as expected to test for live wires!

Check at least two times!
Every now and then, this product may become non-responsive, so it's important not to blindly trust it immediately without verifying that it's not in an 'error mode.' Apart from that, I love it, and I believe you should definitely have it at home!
